British Gas final bill

Options
Hi all!

I’ve just switched to BG for electric supply.

I have my final bill from BG and it’s too much to pay in one hit!

If I pay 3 x £200 chunks and agree this with them, will this affect my credit rating?
This would clear my bill after the 3 payments.

Thank you
:)

    Maybe.

    It's entirely up to them.

I am confused - switch to BG - final bill from BG

Assuming the bill is correct why did you not keep up with payments ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

You have managed to post on the wrong forum and are not really sure if you are leaving or joining British Gas?

Suggest you have a think about what you are trying to say then repost in the energy forum.

You will get asked if you sensibly provided regular readings, and not relied on estimates, why is the bill so high?

    Other advice will then follow.

This forum is for LPG, heating oil and 'other' fuels (ie not gas/electric)
I’ve just switched to BG for electric supply.

I have my final bill from BG makes no sense if you have just joined them.

and it’s too much to pay in one hit! why? Either you cannot afford the energy you are using (maybe cut back your usage or shop around and switch again!), or you've not been paying enough and have built up a debt (never a good idea).

If I pay 3 x £200 chunks and agree this with them, will this affect my credit rating? Not if they have agreed to it.

If you are leaving BG (rather than joining them), I doubt they will be happy to let you do so with an outstanding debt. But you can ask.
