Recently I have started my own business. I took my phone, water electric and gas contract with one company thinking that it would be easier to keep all my bills with one company. Since I took these contract, this company keep sending me wrong bills. Every month I make lengthy calls to sort it out but they causing me lot of stress by taking too much money from my account.
As I said I started recently have to face many other issues. But these extra bills causing me lot of stress.
Please please kindly request you to advice me what should I do.

Does the company ask you for meter readings and do you give them by the due date ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

When I started the business I did give them meter reading and Still my bill was wrong. So every month when I make calls they do ask meter reading and they say we do apologise you will get either refund or we will deduct from your next bill.
It’s been 4 months now and I m still facing the same issue.0 -

But other than you calling them do they ask you for meter readings.?
I have a couple of business supplies and they require readings by the last day of the month so I give them online a couple of days before. If I give them after the end of the month I end up with an estimated bill.
Who is the supplier ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

My bills are 3 times higher then what previous owner was paying to the other company.
When I said I will change the supplier they said I can’t because I’m in 3 years contract.0 -

As you indicate, you shoulkd expect to face many trials and tribulations in running a business, but if you can easily resolve this one by a simple phone callk each time, you are doing really well.
One of the key principles in business is to always to strive to remain in control.
You indicate they "they causing me lot of stress by taking too much money from my account.".
How are you allowing that to occur?
If collection is made via Direct Debit, you should always have been provided with advance notiice of the amount intended to be collected at a date specified the future, allowing you time to check the amount and challenge it if you believe it to be incorrect.
If the worst comes to the worst, always remember that you can cancel a Direct Debit Instruction at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify the organisation.0 -

You may need to consider seeking leagl advice. A fundamental requirement of any contract is that it involes more than one party, where each party has it's own obligations to perform. If you feel the other party in this case is consistantly failing in their obligatiion, then it may be that the contract can be considered revoked or quashed due to their breach.
FYI. I went shopping at Tesco yesterday, and the amount the cashier charged me was three times the amount she charged the previous customer0 -

Is it just possible that the previous owner was "conservative with the truth" There was another poster in the same position as you re the previous owner - it transpired that much of the equipment in his business was not being used.
Give us details of your consumption please.

It’s an Alterations business.
The reason I know how much previous owner was paying less because last 3 years I was working for her and at that time 3 people were working for her.
Now since I took over this business I am working own my own.
That mean whatever I’m using less then it was in use before.0 -
From being an employee to become an employer , yet there’s a lot to learn about the business.
The reason I didn’t cancel the direct debit because everytime I called them, they assured me that it will be resolved with the next bill and it didn’t happen.
But I will cancel the direct debit now until they resolve the issue.
I thought I should seek an advice before I take any further step.0
