Hi,I switched my number from Virgin to Vodafone via PAC. Switch went through yesterday and I can make\send calls and send receive texts from my new Vodafone phone, via my transferred number.

However I can also still make calls and send texts from my old Virgin phone and text messages are still occasionally going there.

Shouldn't the old SIM have deactivated by now?

thats ur problem.........number hasnt transferred yet
  • My original post wasn't very clear - now edited. To clarify, the number has transferred. I can make and receive calls and texts from my new phone under the old (transferred) number. However, I can also make calls and texts from my old phone on the same number, and texts (to my old number) are still occasionally going to my old phone.

Are you sure that you have not been given a temporary number by your new provider?
I am doing this this weekend - can make calls from both old and new phone - number supposed to be transferred by Tuesday whereby the temporary number will cease to work.
  • Thanks - I was given a temporary number, but for a period (2 days in total) after my permanent number ported over to my new phone, I could use the same (ported) number from both the old and new phones. Incoming phone calls to my permanent number went to the new phone, but text messages would go to either phone seemingly at random (which is how I noticed it).

However it has fixed itself now, my old phone shows SIM inactivated and everything going to the new phone as it should :)
