Its been a month and still no refund from RAC!

I bought home breakdown cover on 4th December 2019 and cancelled it on the same day as no one turned up to take my car to the garage.

They told me on the phone that my refund will be made in 5 days. They didn’t do it. Multiple phone calls, hours of conversations and finally “your refund process has been started” but still nothing in my account!

Why? Why don’t you just do my refund?

What can i do please? Any suggestion?

Regards

What's that you say? You broke down, organised cover that day to take advantage of the company and mess them about and now they're messing you about? Terrible.

The Ts & Cs are clear that you don't get cover for the first 24hrs of a new policy. This is to prevent people doing exactly what you tried to do.

Just think... If you'd kept the cover on, then next time you broke down, you would be covered.

OP, if you could have coped somehow for 24 hours, *then* you should have given them a call for help.
  • You ARE allowed to join the RAC and use them immediately if necessary; it just costs more. Anyway that is irrelevent to the fact that the OP has not had a refund and testimony to the poor service once again by the RAC who seem to be going downhill fast from what they used to be; such a shame.

OP, write to them and give them 5 more days to refund you otherwise say you will be commencing a small (legal) claim to recover your money plus costs and interest.
