ipad still sealed in box with half cellophane off?

Hi everyone,

I bought an ipad mini for me Dad last wkend and as I showed it to him i noticed that half the cellophane was hanging off the box. Where u would pull the tab to open the sealed outer box.

I stopped my dad in his tracks and luckily he then said it was wrong one and ipad pro NOT MINI he wanted aghh.

I then phoned John Lewis (where i bought it from) and said could i return it. 3 staff said yes as long as the outer packaging is still on and ipad not opened.

This correct? This is not our fault so all ok to return?

All depends on what they consider "sealed" when you get into store.

Well all you can do is go and find out.....:T

The question is Just what reason did you give the staff on the phone? Why 3 times?

It was already half opened or I picked the wrong one.....

  • No one here can tell you what’ll happen in the store - you’ll have to go and find out :)

An iPad Mini is about £400 and an iPad Pro is over £700. Are you saying you went in to buy an iPad Mini and ended paying over £700 for a Pro and not realising you bought the wrong one ? :rotfl:

Would you not have noticed that in the shop. Given how they do not bag stuff up?

But fail to answer a simple question of "Just what did you say to the staff on the phone, that you appear to have rung 3 times...
When a simple trip back to store with the issue would have been easier.

Reading the OP , it reads the other way round.

    From OP
was wrong one and ipad pro NOT MINI he wanted.

I thought the same as you. Had a nicely prepared post. Went to quote the OP Then re read it a few times, to make sure as it's not the best way to word it..

    Bought pro, not mini. :rotfl:

So sounds like realised spent £££ more than they should and are looking for a way out.
