Very supplied TV now faulty

We purchased a Panasonic 55 inch curved TV (panasonic tx-55cr430b) on 29 June 2016, which has now gone blotchy. Having come back from a week away there are now 3 bright dots on the TV which stand out from the white dotted blue blotchyness. Do we have any comeback for Very to fix or replace the TV under the Consumer rights act (https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/consumer-rights-refunds-exchange/). Very have said they only cover under their 1 year policy. We have quoted the Consumer rights act in the above MS link and their technical team are calling us back.
Also “reasonable length of time” is open to interpretation; isn’t it?
Thoughts or advice please.
Steve.

You would have to prove it was an inherent fault, i.e. a fault that was present when the TV was manufactured. You would need to get a an independent report that confirmed this.0

You've had the TV for over 3 1/2 years, so the odds of getting a new one out of them are pretty slim.
If you are lucky, they might offer you a discount on a new one, or some other partial refund.
Otherwise it's up to you to show that it had some latent fault at the time they sold it to you. That normally requires an expert to do an inspection of it, to spot a defect. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Update - they have asked us to provide an independent assessment of the fault and send that report to them. They’ll refund upto £45 for that report.0

As above you will only get the £45 if the fault is shown to be inherent and even if it does the retailer can decide the remedy......repair, replace or partial refund. The replacement can be of similar age, not new. Any refund can be reduced to reflect the 3.5 years you have had use.
What was the original cost?0 -

What was the original cost?
£769.00 according to the Internet Archive.
Punters on ebay are asking about half that for a second hand one.0 -
Yep that’s about right. Engineer came round yesterday and confirmed the LEDs are shot. Report cost £30 and we’ll fire it off and see what happens.0

No he didn’t and I failed to ask.0
