A charm bracelet with 10 charms, if you can each representing something from each year of marriage eg a holiday related charm representing a particular holiday, a baby related charm for the years your children were born in.

I just love this thread! What a kind and imaginative bloke you are....:)

Re the charm bracelet idea, how about troll beads? In addition to the watch (fab idea by the way) you could buy the bracelet and an appropriate troll bead for your 10th anniversary (you can get a personalized engraved one for example https://www.trollbeads.com/en-gb/gifts/occasion/engraved-beads/) and then buy her a new bead every year/for any significant event.

Feels strange I've kept the contents of the box secret for 9 years and I've pretty much spilled all on this thread... Although unlikely my wife would find it so all good

A getaway should be easy - you know by now what clothes she likes to weasr for what occaision, so book the getaway - without telling her of course - and pack a bag with the necessities and put it in the car or hide it away ready for the day.

If it includes weekdays and she is employed, then do what my mate did - he arranged with his wife's employer a week off for her for the event and, on the Friday, boss called her into office and told her to take the week off and my mate collected her after work on the Friday and drove whereveritwas he had arranged, got there and explained what was going on.

Needless to say she was a bit surprised - or I assumed so - as everyone except her knew what was going on - and most amazingly nobody let on, not even her boss who also knew the treason for the week off, all despite many subtle hints which she must have twigged but didn't let on she had sussed out.

As for the secret number, this could be a reference to the number of miles or kilometers which would be covered by the trip, or could be the spending limit for a special memento purchased while away, something to look for when or if a getaway does occur.

We married as a "second time around" couple, both having had traumatic experiences. I cannot possibly explain the depth of my feelings for my wife, suffice it to say that here effect upon my life was to save it. By our 10th anniversary, we had very little money, but we were a family unit, with her ds and dd becoming my own. I was trying hard to think of something to express what I felt. (and still feel)

I had several poems published, but life had brought an end to that, until I thought "Why not put it into words?" So I wrote a poem and titled it "TEN". The words contained all my feelings, I printed it with an attractive font onto canvas and framed it. The words are too personal to reproduce here, but it had the desired effect and she was in floods of happy tears.

It still hangs on our bedroom wall and it still expresses the feelings that I find hard to speak.

OP I think your plan is wonderful and should be exactly right.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

Hi,  I'm not sure if anyone will read this now, its been over a year since i started the thread...

But the anniversary is in two days... All planned and ready. Luckily i didn't rely on getaways etc... When i wrote the thread in Jan 2020 i would never have expected this pandemic...

Thanks both... I wasn't expecting to get any replies!

The end product was, i purchased a safe, and the code to open the safe is the code i wrote in UV pen 10 years ago, on the letter i gave the day before our wedding day.

Inside the safe is a watch, which has diamonds encrusted as the hour markers, and 18 gifts of time cards- each one with things like, Go for picnic,  go for a couples massage etc etc.

    General theme being Time.
