With thanks to Special Saver 2 for the constant update of this site to which I regularly (excuse the pun) turn for info. Having acquired just about any account that I can that is above two percent, I am now scratching around to add any two percent accounts that are not restricted to locals only etc.
Not sure what rate level being included in this thread now, but I have seen some 2 percents included, and I wonder if the following may have been excluded in the past due to low rates, but might now be eligible for inclusion.....Anyway I mention just for info and consideration.....
Buckinghamshire Simple Regular Saver issue 2. (2%)
Darlington High Days and Holidays. I see that the junior one is included, but the adult one might not be as the basic rate is only 1% - but the bonus of 1% paid each year, according to their website appears to be on the total holdings at that time, which indicates a bit more than just two percent in total.
Holmesdale regular saver issue 3. Also 2%.
All details can be seen on the respective websites.
Kind regards

Hi Folks,
I cannot find anything that has changed for this weekend's update.
As for the 2% accounts, the criteria for being listed on the first page of this thread are always in the first post. This currently states:I am only including accounts where the interest rate is 2.5% or better, or 2% if there are particularly favourable terms and conditions (e.g. no maturity date, or allow payment of £500 or more per month, or have unlimited withdrawals without penalty).
This was decided after some discussion on this thread.
On that basis, the Darlington BS High Days and Holidays and Buckinghamshire BS Simple Regular Saver (Issue 2) accounts qualify for inclusion in post 2 as they have no maturity date. I have just added them. Thanks for pointing them out.
I do not think there are many people looking for 2% accounts for £250 per month for 12 months so I do not really want to add those to this list due to the extra work involved but if you like those accounts then I suggest you check out this page: http://www.moneysupermarket.com/savings/search/results/?goal=SAV_REGULARSAVINGS#pg3
I will do another update next weekend.

Nottingham BS RS Special Saver Issue 3 - I haven't been contacted by them so is this account open to all? Perhaps I have not been contacted due to my marketing preferences?
As has been said this isn't listed on their site so could I ask if the account has a maturity date or can you keep it going at the end of each year building up the balance?
Many thanks.0 -
Hi af....ends 30th. June 2016, no mention of renewal. Interest added end June each year.0

I was able to get hold a of a copy of the account information sheet for the Nottingham BS - Special Saver Account - Issue 3 today, I can't figure out how to attach an image of it?
But to give a quick summary:
Interest rate - 4% gross (Edit - this rate it states is variable, they state this means it can go up or down. The basis on which we might change our interest rate is set out in our T&C's. I don't have a copy of the T&C's so I can't say any more on this.)
No bonus
No withdrawals allowed
Access - Branch
Interest paid into the account on 30 June 2015 & 30 June 2016 when the account matures.
On 1 July 2016 the balance will automatically be transferred to their instant access Branch Instant account or nearest equivalent.
Once opened you can pay between £1 and £400 each calendar month by cash, cheque or standing order. No limit on number of payments. You can miss as many monthly payments as you wish. Missed payments can not be made up in subsequent months.
No access until account matures.
One account per person in branch catchment area, UK only residents and over 16 age. Minimum of £10 to open the account.
Limited issue and will need to fill in an application form so will need proof of ID and permanent address.
Hope that is helpful to someone.0 -

Good spot on the catchment area. Its been a few years since I saw that on one their accounts - the used to have post code restrictions so I wonder what 'catchment area' means in real terms.
The factsheet I have clearly says the rate is variable. Does it not on yours or have you left it off your post?0 -
I think catchment area translates to existing customers. I live 40 miles away from the branch but they always post me details of new offerings. Had details of this just over a week ago and opened one ok.0

My mistake, I left it off by accident. I have updated the post - I don't have the T&C's so not sure what basis upon which they might change the rate.0
