What did it say when you checked the T&Cs?
and very ambiguous it is because.....
In each of the next 11 months, you can make savings once a month into your M&S Monthly Saver account.
The maximum monthly balance means £250 in the first month after your M&S Monthly Saver account is opened, increasing by £250 in each subsequent month.
The first standing order payment must be at least one calendar month after account opening
No mention of subsequent months.
You can stop a standing order that has been set up to your M&S Monthly Saver account and set up a new standing order at a later date.0 -
What you say about the Coventry BS regular saver is true, Special Saver2, but they have changed the terms to make the 3.5% rate totally variable. So in the short term we should be happy, but they may slash the rate in future.0

As you say good while it lasts. I've got currently £15K+ tucked away. Like any other account, when the rate falls, you simply go elsewhere. So just make the most of it.0

To answer your earlier question, you cannot change the date of the standing order.
Thanks, but what do you base that on?
Most of my previous RS accounts elsewhere I have been able to if required and after a long conversation with M&S monthly savings Chester, they tell me (after checking) that I can, however I am aware that sometimes CSAs get it wrong.0 -

So if I phone up today will the SO be dated today? In which case waiting till next week would be better..... but what if they pull it..... so best make it today then find out they can't take my call till next week anyway!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
Mortgage Balance = £0

It can be today or any other date that is convenient to you.0

They set up a Standing Order for you from your M&S current account. I've told them to set mine for early next month. I do wonder if I could log on and change it if I wanted. I was mindful to make the first payment today and then the second payment in early February, but they weren't having that.0
