Hi Folks,
The only thing that I can find is that Saffron BS 12 Month Fixed Rate Members' Regular Saver has gone from issue 1 to issue 2. It is possible it changed a while ago and I have only just noticed!
It seems identical to issue 1 (4% on up to £200 per month for 12 months and penalty-free withdrawals). The details state that you cannot hold one of these and a regular saver of another issue simultaneously. In post 2000, vinylmusic wrote that you had to be a member or family of a member for at least 1 year to open this account. I do not know if that rule will apply to issue 2. It appears from the website that anybody can open an account in branch (and existing members and their family can open an account by post).
Please feel free to post on this thread about your experience opening the issue 2 account if you are not local or an existing member.
Regarding the query from adindas about listings on the first page of this thread and multiple accounts, I changed the thread a little while ago when institutions stopped offering the option of multiple accounts. I put this in the introduction...Unless indicated otherwise, you can only open one of each account.
I will do another update next weekend.

... and at the moment there are no accounts I am aware of that allow you to have more than one account. Where applicable, I have indicated if you can have one account from different issues (e.g. an issue 1 and an issue 2 account simultaneously).
Thank you for clarification. Keep the good work ....0 -

Funding for lending is really hurting rates. While I know we ain't in the good times considering regular savers are often seen as a 'hook' product running as a limited loss leader, having rates pulled at or near the rate of inflation is a kick in the teeth.0 -

Mansfield Building Society. The following is an extract from their literature: The maximum number of Regular Savings Accounts (across all issues) is limited to 3 (in total) per customer.
I can confirm that it is possible to open 3 accounts of the same issue.0 -
