You should ask to keep it, seeing as he probably never wears it and wasn’t bothered about it before. If you love it, [STRIKE]fight for it[/STRIKE] pay for it!

    Fixed that for you.

You should buy it off him :-)

Sell the vintage shirt for £80, buy a replica one for £10 if you really like the design. Only a collector would care about the difference.

"Let" him? Is he your husband or a slave?

It's his choice. If you treat him with more respect, you never know, maybe he'll feel inclined to share the proceeds or buy you dinner.

Seriously though, a more moral dilemma would be how can anyone justify £80 for a T-shirt?

If all you have to worry about in life is a teeshirt then I would think yourself very lucky:)

    What a daft question!

It's his, not yours. Go out and buy one for yourself.

Just came across this thread.  Similar issue without the controlling partner.  Saw a Whitesnake 'Slide it in' tshirt for sale on ebay for $150 in the USA.  I happened to have the same t shirt in my bottom drawer, unworn for years, so put it on ebay for £50 and sold it for £80.  Some saying about a fool and their money came to mind as I posted it...  Could not believe someone would genuinely pay that much for an old t shirt.  Shame I didn't keep more of them when I was younger.
