They clearly have no clue about compliance with any law.
Don't display VAT registration number. Don't charge the right rate of VAT. Don't provide anything other than contact us form. Only provide trading name. Won't even refund postage if the goods are faulty - relying on a term on their website stating they don't refund postage costs. Also states must be in its original packaging. Don't provide an inclusive price. Potential breaches of GDPR & PECR.....
They might actually be providing goods rather than taking the cash and not delivering (since they seem to have been trading 18 months), but I don't think for one second this can be classed as a legitimate trader, due to how little they seem to comply with any of the obligations of one.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
As an aside to the legitimacy of the company itself, what are the legalities of what they are selling on the software side, re copyright etc?0

Checkout at PayPal where they added VAT on???
Didn't notice until I paid
Can't see anywhere on the page that price excludes tax?
Are they allowed to do that?
It is simply a Raspberry Pi 3b+ with an SD card containing the free RetroPie software and a couple of controllers. Even without VAT you can get the components separately for far less so no idea why you would pay that in the first place.
The fact that you bought that and also from a website that looks like that shows you have learnt nothing from your time on here...RichardD1970 wrote: »As an aside to the legitimacy of the company itself, what are the legalities of what they are selling on the software side, re copyright etc?
It is illegal to distribute all the ROM files for every game on there it will also contain a copyrighted BIOS to play the PS1 games.
All these ROM files are available to download for free online (which is still illegal) but i think it's even worse when companies try and profit from this and people actually pay them for it aswell!0 -

It's even worse when they end up paying more than they thought they were.
Actually I think the word should be hilarious but perhaps that's just me
