Morning everyone
bellabella - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Happy New Year too x
Now light, but rather gloomy and dreich, but dry underfoot.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying first cuppa and porridge whilst on here, DS2 had brekkie and is floating about, he's in shorts and t-shirts ready for a lift to the gym and DS1 is still in his pit - enjoying a lie-in - he's back to work on Monday.
Dinner yesterday was gammon with a vegetable rice and pasta in cheese sauce - bit of a strange mixture but that's what was requested. Some gammon left - so that's in the fridge. Tonight dinner is going to be a roast chicken, so nothing to difficult there except I don't have a chicken so will buy one this morning.
We didn't really do anything except visit the parents then home for chill time.
Today I want to get the decs down, have a hoover and dust through, and give the kitchen a clean up and check what we have in the cupboards. fridge and freezers - outside freezer desperately needs defrosting - not sure when that will get done. There's some washing that needs doing also, don't wash on New Years Day - so need to get that addressed. I also need to organise my diary - have it on my desk but haven't put anything in it yet - so plenty to keep me occupied.
Keep safe and well x

Dry here but quite chilly, OH got up this morning ans went to work within 1/2 hr he was back saying they dont start back till Monday !! he was thrilled. Just to add to his excitement he can come shopping with me this morning !!
We have just about eaten our way through the Xmas goodies just the cheese left but not an awful lot of that now, back on the wagon next week though and a mountain of chocs to get through !!
We took the decs down yesterday the lounge looks so bare now I need to look for a lamp for the mantle as it looks really gloomy, I had some lights up there and miss them !!
Not sure about dinner tonight I quite fancy something with rice so may get a pork fillet and do something with that.
I am puppy wrangling this afternoon as well so will take her up the park for a walk.
Yesterday my lady who does my nails posted something asking for models for a training course she is running, I offered and have got a free exfoliation, file and polish booked in for tomorrow !! Lucky me.
Right better get on have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone,
Been quite a productive day thus far, sorted out books for the book bank, done some paper shredding and worked out my bank balance.
Just taking a break before making a start on the washing and tidying up the kitchen.
Dinner tonight will be something from the freezer, probably a pasty with mashed potato and either peas or baked beans. Yesterday was a NSD, and I am planning for another today.
Hope you all have a nice Thursday.
Take care.

Hi everyone and Happy New Year.
Not a ot to report here, we were Billy and Betty no-mates on NYE, just watched the fireworks and went to bed.
I'm debating whether to take down the decs or leave them for a day or two. I might leave the tree and take down everything else. Apart from that the day will be taken up with sewing, walking Ziggy and watching tv. Sorry for the mega boring post.0 -
All decs taken down on 27th, I cannot be bothered to dust round them, so away they go.
Shopping this morning, needed to stock up on some stuff, £48+ have the freezer stock up ok now.
Have had the glass plate from my microwave soaking in bio detergent since yesterday so need to get it out and give it a scrub. I was debating about buying some oven pride and trying that to see if it would clean it, decided to try detergent first.
All washing done apart from what we took off last night so it can wait until Monday.
OH is about to go out to the shed for half an hour out of my way......need to sort out some lunch.
Spag bol tonight.0 -
Morning all, it's a very grey day here
.
I'm having a boring day here too as I'm doing nothing remotely houseworkish today. All visitors and "stayovers" were gone by 7pm yesterday and I went to bed shattered ! ( and I didn't wake til 10.30am  , but I must have needed the rest ). Dad took home a doggy bag filled with all sorts, enough lunch for a couple of days, party food and croissants, so he has no need to go shopping for a few days. It's the first time I've heard him complain about lots of shoppers in sm's, he usually loves the hustle and bustle. Perhaps he's afraid of falling now as he seems more totterey of late
( but he won't admit it )
There is plenty of food in the fridge and freezer, but I'm longing for a salad. Is that wrong ? Maybe I'll have a plain jacket potato with it because it's winter.
Today we will watch TV and there is also a lot of recorded stuff to catch up on. My paperwhite is still upstairs in it's box so I will bring that down and at least have a look at it :rotfl:.
Anyone watch Dr Who last night ? I'm not sure about it again . I didn't like the last series at all.
Take care all

Morning all! Had a delivery this monring of something I ordered that I had completely forgotten about and I may keep it for myself, or I may donate as a future birthday gift. I don't really want to take them out of the box just yer because our kitchen is non existent..
Which brings me to one of my resolutions which is to get ome builders in for quotes to extend/alter the back end of the house. I dont like galley kitchens and the other side of the living room [two rooms knocked into one] could be remande into two rooms then I'd have a massive kitchen with space for a table. We've been intending to do this since we moved in but plans were scuppered last and this year due to circumstances. I won't enjoy the mess but I will enjy the finished product...
I have oredred wood, and waiting to see when it's coming. We're going out today t get himself some new shoes, summer trainers are not going to cut it...Me, I appear to have turned into Imelda Marcos. I used to have three pairs of footwear in total, one pair of docs, one pair of baseball boots and one pair of sandals, but since the plantar fasciitis, I've been aquiring shoes to help with that, and they don't wear out very quickly, so now I have double figure footwear...
I'm going to book a haircut too, let's see if someone else can make my mop look good, it's not difficult for me to shave around the sides but the top is a another matter....
My decs are still up and probably coming down Sunday because the council will be collecting trees this year..I missed having the recycling and rubbish collecting this year [ not a good omen?] They actually came round yesterday morning! I was a bit shocked but I suppose its extra pennies for them even if we can wave bye bye to the extra council tax....
Well done Gers, you're improving in leaps and bounds! Nanny, when my father got a bit slow and felt a bit unsteady, we'd park him in a cafe or somewhere like that, he'd order a drink and just watch people. He was so nosey, and he really enjoyed doing thatHolly, good to hear you're enjoying yourself! Nelski, same as, grazing feeding, cheese and biscuits and Christmas pudding for us
camelot, you can call the police to tow them away next time if it happens again. You can park across an empty driveway, but not block someone in...Well, I hope you're all still basking in Christmas and New Year spirit [ literally and figuatively speaking] and are gee'd up to make change for the better....Tremendous Thursday!

Morning
Everything getting nicely back to normal here.
Started on my large work list but considerably slower than normalIn between tasks I have also stripped a chicken from the fridge and when the pastry defrosts will be cooking up some chicken leek and mushroom pasties which of course will be heading for the freezer (bar 1 for tonight) I am in serious need of some freezer decluttering now and as usual will probably have a good few months food unless I can sort out a coach holiday group to stop here weekly for dinner  So despite saying I dont have any resolutions I do now.....meal planning and freezer emptying
Calm couple of home days now then next week back to trains, early mornings strange courses and the obligatory mother day. Going to make a big batch of chicken and mushroom soup for her this weekend that will help a little with freezer stock
Right should get back to work (feel that enthusiasm)
Have a good day all

Afternoon all,
Bit of a grey day here too.DH is still in bed, suffering with this D&V bug.I've been sleeping downstairs to minimise the chance of me getting it too and I've been in town to get some meds and antic bac gel.He also wanted a diary for work,a day to a page and spotted some in smith$. Sorry not paying 17.99  , onto Wilk0s- a girl there said she didnt think they sold them, certainly weren't any on the shelf so ended up in £stretcher and got one for 2.99.Its a bit cheap looking on the outside (thats because it was) but the paper's ok inside and it doesn't leave the house.
I got 3 packs of cards and 4 rolls of wrapping paper for about a fiver from marks, 75% off so that can go in the loft when we take the decs down.I think I'll leave the tree until after the DGC have been but might take cards down etc.
I made some parsnip & apple soup yesterday but wasnt that keen on it.I've had it for lunch 2 days and frozen 2 portions- didnt want to waste that good stock. Back to easy fare tonight - shepherds pie
Right time for a cuppa so I'll love you and leave you, take care x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon everyone. OH back at work today, I am not back until Monday.
I went into the city centre today and bought a few half price gifts in the boots sale ; to be given at birthdays during the year. One of the gifts I did not have to pay for as I used my boots points.
Got some boots with my money from OH. Also I bought some slippers , which were reduced by 2pounds, as mine are nearly worn out.
My treat half price were some Ted Baker mini perfumes half price at boots.
