Forgot to say I am looking for a good place to hold my EF. I don't have ISAs so know I should probably start their but need it to be accesable in an emergency. Any thoughts or help on this would be really appreciated

This site has links to best savings account. Your EF is sounding healthier by the minute. We currently have our EF and savings pots together. I try to keep it at around £1K. I do have a diary - feel free to jump in at the end - 'Prosperous soul in the making'. I have redone my plans based on when the 0% are due to expire. We have one this July - the rest are for next April onwards. We will clear the closest one and then put around half what we would have paid into an EF for a bit. We then hope to overpay large lump sums later in the year.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

OH doesn't mind OPs but wouldn't bother if it wasn't for me. We keep our EF in premiun bonds, probably not the best but with the rates as they are, we have got more in 6 months that we would have done in a year in savings. Also readily accessible. I mark off bricks on a picture of our house for each £1k bracket that we go through paying off the mortgage, which reminds me I need to colour in this months!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

We need to renew buildings insurance for our BTL and have done some research, I can save almost 50 on what we have been quoted for renewal and get 63 cash back so 115 found to make an extra OP in the near future.

I am having a similar issue with EF and my season ticket refund fund. I am concerned about anything risky but also want to hedge inflation. I keep looking at N S and I in hope of a new inflation tracking bond. Sorry I don’t have any good suggestions. CM2
