31.34 found today to pay towards my target which is a combination of a refund, some surveys rounding and bits on shopi*um. I am finding that I am much more careful when buying things and now look for the best discounts rather than just buy which is a great result for long term financial health. If I lump everything other than my normal OP together then so far I have paid an extra 143.86 gains my target of 146.58. I was going to keep this as just survey money but have been financially better off with refunds etc so adding it together for simplicity.
We have had a little bit of work done on the house and getting some new much needed furniture on Sunday which I am looking forward to.
I think we may need to focus on bulking up the EF for the next few months.
I have a few birthdays for immediate family members which have kept me busy and will continue to do so for another 3 weeks.
Onwards and downwards.

You're only a couple of pound away from your target, with a few days to go.
Focusing on your EF for a while is a good idea. Set goals for that, as you thrive finding ways to reach your targets.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
7.86 found so that's this month's tarter smashed with 151.72 out of a 147.58 target, and 2 weeks interest paid for. Be nice to get it up to 175 so will push for that as a stretch target.
In other news, I have finally set up a Lisa for me and have asked hubby to do the same.
Thanks MF, I definitely need to think of some targets that will keep me focused. I find if a monetary amount has something linked to it then it pushes me a bit.

Money shuffle complete so I thought I would report in with some figures and thoughts about October.
Mortgage Bal (when int added) 144,584 which should dip below 144000 when monthly payment taken in the next few days which will mean living room paid and is all mine. I will report back with actual figures when I have them.
546.78 OP for September
302 interest saved by OPs in Sep
15658 reduction so far
8306.09 OP to date
4804 interest saved to date
14 months payments saved so far
Daily interest 10.43
Have mad a few purchases this month which have been nice to improve the house but has reduced saving a bit which we need to build up.
I have paid the top up of 336 to the mortgage to keep the term at the original 18 years (before any OPs) but the standard OP of 395.06 has gone towards EF which is 4972.35. This month my first action is to get that to a nice round 5k, then any other bits I make I think will be directed at the mortgage. Target to be decided when I know the balance after the monthly payments.
Please to report that Lisa's have been set up for me and hubby.
Busy generally here but hoping to complete our tax returns soon which should fingers crossed provide us with some money back due to ppi.

Congratulations on owning your living room, that's fantastic! You do impressive overpayments and I'm sure your budget will fall into place.
Well done on setting the LISA's up, the future you will appreciate it.

I still need to do my ppi tax reclaim - and the WFH forms for me and DH. Let us know how you get on.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I officially have paid off 10% and own my living room which is a really lovely feeling and I do feel excited and proud. When I started OPs this point seemed so far in the future and yet it doesnt seem that long ago now. The next 10% I want to own is my kitchen and need to hit 128k to do that.
The mortgage balance is 143, 651.02 and the value is roughly 260k so just over 55%ltv. If we had not OPd it would of taken us until next December to be in a similar position so shows how much difference its making.
A while back I set another goal to have saved 5k in interest and to date have saved 4804 leaving 196 to go to hit that goal.
This month my targets are
1, get EF to 5k (27.62 will see that done)
2, OP mortgage to bring balance to 143,600 (51.02).
Although I am looking to grow the EF the thing that motivates me to do surveys etc is seeing the mortgage balance drop and the money I'm saving so this is why most of the extra money I make is heading that way during the month. When we get paid I will direct another chunk to the EF similar to this month. I think for me this will keep daily motivation while enabling EF to grow.
My targets this month are quite low but that reflects the fact that the next 2 weeks are really busy with family birthday preparations. I have a few bits to pop over to savings do will report back when that's done.
Thank you for reading
