HI,
You are doing really well! I just thought I would stick my nose in the the holiday / school / fines:
We are looking at booking a holiday... I'm a bit torn as it means less money towards the mortgage but if we don't do it befire DS1 is 5 we will be fined by school and also when DS2 turns 2 we would have to pay for him aswell... Not that I'm trying to talk myself into it
I can only talk from experience at my DDS school, but the headmaster doesn't report the absence to the LEA if it's less than 5 days absence, and they are the ones who fine. He can put it down an unauthorised absence which only goes on their report, nowhere else. Always put the request in writing and they will respond.
Hope that helps - might not be the same everywhere but ask what their policy is.
Good Luck!
MM

Just found the mortgage free in 25-30 club and have joined. I have decided I would like to be mortgage free before my 45th birthday and 10 years early so looking at 2027. To achieve this I need to OP by 750 a month and anything else is a bonus. Feels like I may have found the right balance.
OK so where will the money come from...
DD set to OP by 115
Child benefit 137.60
Rental income 334.54
So I can atm find 587.14 pm leaving 162.86 extra to get each month min.
We have booked our holiday today, had a nightmare as the payment went through but the booking wasn't made, all resolved nearly 3 hours later but was stressful.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. Hi Everyone,
Thoughts I would give a quick update.
On a positive note I lost 4.5lbs this week
I am feeling a little beaten down in relation to the money side if things the last few days tbh so thought I would get it down and hopefully out of my system.
My oh car needs some work which will cost 600, we have had his car ins and car tax, letters this week. We also need to pay for travel ins and my my mot is due soo n... So it kind of feels like everything is against us.
I am in my od in one of my accounts and trying to pull myself out of it but keep getting hit with large bills. My plan is to put a bit aside for all of these things monthly but atm we have 2much going out to out anything aside... I know in a few months the accounts will be sorted and we will be in a better position but am really looking forward to being on top of everything.
I know it may sound silly but I am working for my second job tomorrow and the extra money I get for that will go towards an OP on the mortgage so that I feel like I'm making some progress this month. I will also increase my DD this month for the mortgage as if I don't do it now I will forget and time will pass.
I know I am in a fortune position, just wish these big bills would do one!Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. It’s so frustrating when things like that all happen at once, but hopefully then there’ll be no more big ones until next year.Mortgage balance as of end of Dec 19 - £120,675

Thanks BVic28, I need to remind myself I'm not the only one... Its Jan after all! And look at how far I have come, if I had made no ops I would owe 157510, but I am down to 152,120 so shouldn't be moaning lolMortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. Hey,
So kind if feel like I am loosing my way a little as not made any actual Ops for a while.
I did up my DD today so that when I get paid I will automatically OP by 115 which felt good, The DD was already 65 above the contractual payment and the additional 50 was made up with payrise money so we shouldn't notice it going.
I am waiting on payment for my second job which will be end of month and will give me some OP funds. I am also looking to potentially extend 1 of my client contacts which would bring in a bit more.
Ohs car has an expensive date at the garage soon but most funds have been put aside for that.
Lost track with ynab again, it's hard to represent everything when 1 account is OD. I don't want to feed the OD with the additional funds for the Ops as I know it will right itself soon after these big payments are gone. If the money goes into the OD it will just get a bit lost and not used for the right purpose.
Otherthan that all is well and looking forward to actually making the next ops.
Onwards and downwards.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650.
