We saw in the New Year watch 'Jools Holland'. All evening we watched tv and I put on a small buffet. We have never been out to celebrate the New Year .

Morning all and Happy New Year !!
Had a rubbish night's sleep as I had a pain in my hip and just couldn't get comfy no matter which way I led in bed. When I did drop off I had some really weird dreams
DGD was in the land of nod while DGS, Mr Fix It and I made it through to watch the fireworks etc and toasted the new year in. DGS had a glass of schloer, Mr Fix It had wine and I had a cup of tea :rotfl:. Oh the decadence !!
Breakfast for the boys was bacon and eggs etc, DGD and I had croissants. I have cleaned up and filled the DW. I shall cook lunch later before Dad arrives. We will have the last of the turkey and pork slices from the freezer with roasties, veg, yorkies and gravy. There is ice cream or mini cakes for pudding if anyone is still hungry ( probably the DGS, I'm sure he has hollow arms and legs  ). I have a bottle of Asti cooling in the fridge for the adults, coke/ schloer for the DGC.
I'm not making any resolutions as they will go out of the window before the end of Feb, but I want to do several things. The diet starts again tomorrow, as I believe I've put on the 3 quarters of a stone I lost through illness and put more on besides . I want to decorate the kitchen/dining room, it's quite big so I keep putting it off. Try to keep the shopping budget in hand and menu plan before I go shopping. If I can do just those few things, it will be a good start to 2020.
Hope everyone has a good 1st of January.
Take care all

Happy new year everyone.........
Better this morning, yesterday was awful, could not say why except that I did not feel well. Pushed myself to do the cleaning and 3 loads of washing. Apart from the bed linen everything was dried and put away. Saw the Dr last night, he said he thought I probably had a virus, does not link it to the Alendronic Acid.......hummmmm funny I only feel like this for a couple of days after I have taken them.
We went to bed as usual, were awake when the neighbours at the back let off fireworks.
Its coffee morning at the little chapel so we will be off shortly for a chat and a cuppa.
No other plans for today. Run out of library books, so will have to do a search on my tablet and find something to tide me over until the library van comes on Monday.
Our bank website is down, not happy, I use my bank card when I go shopping, hope its up by tomorrow.........I am going to have to draw money and keep it in the safe, top it up each month.
Baked cod, mash and peas for supper tonight, I have raspberry jelly left to finish up.0 -
Morning all and a Happy New Year ! We had friends round last night but their taxi came around 12.30 so not too late. I did a buffet but there seems quite a lot left so we'll be snacking on that today and I think we'll have some steak for tea as a change.
Not had much chance to post the last few days, DGC were here yesterday and at the same time our oldest friends called unexpectedly so that was nice.DH is still under the weather so I think it'll be a quiet day today.Nice bright blue skies and the birds are very busy around the feeder, mainly bluetits and a robin.
Dumpling sounds like you're all set up to restart your cardmaking. I just have a bigshot which is fine for my needs but an electric one sounds good. I made about 15 Xmas cards for my special people this year, and most of the birthday cards I needed for the women but tend to buy for DH and sons
TA glad you had a 'reet good laugh'
HH hope you are feeling better by now.
Wishing you all you wish yourselves going into a new decade and thanks to all who post on here, welcome new people xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all
Happy New Year to you all !!!
We managed to stay up to see in the New year but went to bed soon after, my dd text me at 11.30 to say she couldn't stay awake, how times have changed !!
Had a busy day yesterday so did not get on here, we went for a lovely walk along some headlands by the sea, kind of a natural harbor my goodness it was bracing !! we walked about 3 miles then stopped at a pub for a drink and some chips and then walked back, on the way back we saw a kingfisher who seemed to be putting on a show for us, he kept diving then coming and sitting on the wall near us and then 'hovering' right above us it was a beautiful sight !
Onto today I an going to take the decorations down and have a good tidy through.
Gammon for tea probably with mash and salad, I too need to get back on my diet next week as I can feel I have put on weight, I wont do it till I am back at work Monday though as there are too many temptations here !!
Have good days all xx0 -

Today is a day of rest i think before OH returns to work tomorrow and we all try to get back to normal life . Dogs have been walked and are just waiting to be fed I took them quickly before we went to bed this morning so we managed a lay in . Right have a great day whatever you are up to xSlava Ukraini0 -
Thank you all for the lovely welcome. I've gone all shy now!
Nothing special happened yesterday, and we went to bed at the usual time. Must be getting old! Of course the fireworks woke us up but went back to sleep fairly quickly.
Lots of visitors due for tea. DS birthday so he is coming with DDiL and 2 DGC. DD and her OH coming too. Am making a banoffee pie among other things. Just got out the condensed milk and it's 'light' . Didn't even know there was such a thing! Fingers crossed it still sets.
Happy New Year to all of you and to those who you love0 -
