I have finally spent some coupons. 17 in fact, on a new, navy-blue trouser suit from Hobbs. The fabric is 50% wool and the jacket is double-breasted. I was lured by their email this morning, offering 20% off everything on their website. Not cheap - it's wiped out my Clothing Allowance savings account - but I will get lots of use out of it. Sadly, no matching skirt.
- Pip (17 spent, 58 to go)
ETA: there is an absolutely beautiful, vintage, red suit from Hobbs on Oxfam Online BUT it doesn't have pockets, so I'm busy trying to ignore it."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

good morning and happy weekend everyone!I am glad we are getting towards spring from a shoe-related point of view! I managed to break the zipper on my winter boots last week and as I knew all along that this would be their last winter as they were starting to look worse for wear it makes no sense to get it replaced. So I binned them and hoped we won't experience a massive cold spell as I only have one pair of trousers to wear with my thick, padded winter shoes with a sensible sole... So far I have managed pretty well over the last two weeks, alternating between them and dresses with brogues.Though thinking of it, spring won't make things much easier... I need a pair of brown shoes as for some dresses black won't do and the ones I had until autumn are beyond repair. I have silly feet anyways and as a vegetarian I actually should't go around buying leather shoes.... So finding nice shoes will be a challenge...Tete_en_l'Air welcome to the challenge! selling clothes won't give you points as others have already mentioned, but you might pretend you have swapped clothes with a friend?Pip the sheep in the spare room made me laugh so much! My yarn stash at one time covered the distance between the Piers in Brighton and Eastbourne! I am now a little under 20 miles and see the yarn ending somewhere just outside Eastbourne.... We guestimated the lenght of my Mums stash and hers might go up to Hastings, or perhaps even Rye...Currently the yardage is going down, but next weekend I will go to a yarn festival and let's be honest, I will not walk out without anything...So, need to get a move on, have to do some household stuff and then will go for a long walk. Tonight I will go to a friends birthday party, that will start with drinks at her place and then maybe going to a club. Isn't it a good feeling that, thanks to my capsule wardrobe, I know exactly what I will be wearing? My beloved, 6 year old little black dress.hope you all have a nice weekend!

A laundry crisis this morning forced me to try some knickers I bought about a year ago but didn't like the cut of. Well, it seems I've now lost enough weight that the "boy pant" style doesn't cut into my thighs anymore and they're actually quite comfy, so that's a "gain" of two four-packs of knickers that were just stuck at the back of the drawer - shouldn't need any new ones for the rest of the year now. Bras on the other hand...
On my to do list this weekend is to finish something that's been in my mending basket for about two years. A lovely pinafore style dress which started becoming a bit clingy (I'm very static all the time and really have to be careful about the fabrics I buy), so I'm in the middle of sewing some heavy trim stuff at the bottom - it's meant for curtains actually - hopefully that'll make it hang better and stop it from crawling up my legs. It's easy enough just very tedious but I do love the dress so I should just get on with it shouldn't I?

Re the clinginess of the pinafore dress - what about getting some anti-static lining material, and putting in a skirt-lining? That should fix it completely. You may find that it still hangs oddly with the heavy trim, since it won't have been designed for that, but adding a petticoat layer could sort it - if you don't have a decent fabric shop, you could actually just use a supermarket single-bedsheet, usually about 4-6 quid. I use them as lining material - machine washable, tumble-dryable, non-iron, designed not to fade, and I can have colourful contrasts inside my clothes that make me smile2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I've bought some yarn, so that's 3 balls of wool I need to knock off my signature...
But most of the yarn I bought was on my Chap's coupons as I'm knitting baby-kit for the impending sprog of one my Chap's nicer colleagues' impending first-born! I'm enjoying it hugely because it's so quick - hat already done, halfway through first mitt, second mitt of course to follow, and then little socks... in white, with stripes of red, yellow, green and blue, very fresh and summery looking and I keep thinking of clothes I could make myself in those colours2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
