@Cherryfudge bh I think it was initially Much Mending, as in doing lots of it...! I think there was a bit of a snobbish next-one-along but can't recall if that was maybe Little Mending? Upper Mending? Nether Mending?!?!
But I'm happy to have a hamlet as well as a village and we definitely have a Village Hall here in Much Mending! We should know - we're all sitting in it this moment!
Just baked some bread rolls - anyone want one, hot from the oven...?2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

@PipneyJane, thinking of these 2020 Awards (for which I msut, must, must organise my points total!), can I make a suggestion, please?
I think there should be a **Special Award to YOU** for helping us all through All This by having set up and run this thread for three years now, allowing us to build this internet-forum thread into a really impressive group of friends, welcoming, supportive, funny and great-hearted.
Much Mending on the Borrow would be an overgrown swamp without you. You've let the Village Hall and the cricket pitch arise, you've brought in the USAF to the base nearby, you've paved the High Street and you've heated up the tea-urn and lit the stove.
Thankyou, @PipneyJane, thankyou.

Hear, hear! This thread is such a friendly place to be and I’ve had such helpful advice on here. I think Pip should definitely have an award. I was going to suggest a blue plaque on the Village Hall, but that sounds rather as if she has left us! Perhaps a chain of office instead.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Morning. No snow or even sleet here yet, although it's on its way apparently. Is it too late to say Merry Christmas? Mine was very quiet - multiple phone calls and presents though (very nice Radley handbag and books and money) and baileys and gin and a piece of Halibut were dropped off, so not neglected, just not bubbled. Like many people we went into tier 4 the weekend before we were due to all meet up, so had all ordered different bits of food for the feast that had to be distributed along with gifts. I've still got a ton of parsnips and carrots that are destined for a curry now.
Other than that it's all muddy walks and books and the odd socially-distanced-well-wrapped up coffee in the park.
I also have darning to do - one of my aunts made me a very nice bedspread when I moved in here (15 years ago?) and there's a x-shaped rip in the back which will only get worse the longer I leave it. Fingers crossed - but I can't really make it worse tbh.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

Here is my summary for this year. Considering I overspent my coupons last year, I am quite surprised at the low total. However like most people I should think, there are clothes in the wardrobe that simply haven’t been worn this year. Jeans, T-shirts and pyjamas have had a lot more wear than usual and will need replacing next year. I would never have imagined at the beginning of the year that a large part of my coupons would be used on clothing for running. I wasn’t going to buy any special clothes until I was sure that I was going to carry on with it, but now I’ve got to week eight of Couch25K I have decided it’s worth investing in some proper gear. I think I’ll need more leggings next year, and possibly a lightweight jacket for cold or rainy days. Here goes:
Two pairs of ankle boots - 12 coupons,
Sports bra 1.5
Running trainers 5
Pyjamas 8
Running leggings 2
Running gloves 2
Fabric 2m - 4 coupons
Total: 34.5 coupons

I’m just working on the 2021 Challenge and will put it up shortly. I’ll tag you,
I've seen there is a new link now so I'll introduce myself there. 🙂:j5 -
Hip Hip..................... three cheers for Pip, love it here, lots of fun and a touch of silliness (not yet competing with the lovely people on The Garden Fence thread, no missing Elephants here yet!) Would have helped with the meat rationing though.
Scores on the doors 4 left from 2019 plus 66 for 2020 = 70 less 53 spent leaves me with 17 for 2010 - all thanks to Covid19 not spending. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)5 -
,For those that have not come across it The Garden Fence thread comprises a group of people who help and support each other from their positions leaning on The Garden Fence. It has been running since some time prior to 2015, how great is that, at some stage it appears that an elephant appeared and it has been rumoured that for a while it disappeared into someone's deep freeze and perhaps ended up under the patio of a certain "fencer" some of it may have been devoured. Apologies to those involved if I have got this wrong - it certainly took some following on times, but was a real hoot. A lovely group of folks, as are those found here. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)6
