Well we have survived these awful few months, thanks for the virtual support, helpful ideas and lots of fun. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and peaceful 2021. We too ate our main meal tonight, delish roast gammon with roast bits and pieces. Cake, pud and trifle available for tomorrow and the next few days Better weather forecast for tomorrow, but very cold, hoping to wrap up and go for a country walk in the morning. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. You are all such lovely people.
I have promised DH I will get some sleep tonight but if I stay awake a bit longer and keep very quiet, I'm hoping to hear the thimble jump down to the knitting needles and the wool needle and DPNs creep out of the knitting bag, and all of them troop across the floor to where the sewing machine is settling down in a cosy nest of UFOs to begin:

At work from 8:15 am to 7:15 pm today (with a lunch break and a run for dinner).
I apparently should have stayed up there, the gremlins are apparently winning in the 7 pm service.
Nothing I can do now. Not sure I would have stayed awake the entire time anyway. Argh.
I did do a clothing spend today during my lunch break, though! I picked up a shawl-style wrap. I think for our purposes here, I'm counting it as a cardigan for 5 coupons.2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. Nightdress - 6 = 60 remaining.7 -

Merry Christmas, one and all!
Just a few minutes before we go and serve up our full roast turkey Xmas dinner... we cook it together and it is one of my favourite meals for lots of reasons. We have the same all over again on New Year's Day!
My Intended had to go out this afternoon as his poor son called to say their boiler had stopped working - so he, his mother and his girlfriend are all in a home with no hot water and no heating, on Christmas Day... unfortunately, it wasn't anything M.I. could do (he went over with various fuses and so on), so they will have to try to find a plumber tomorrow...
So we're even more thankful than already because not only are none of us dreadfully ill this year, but we have hot water as well!

So that is what woke me! I went to bed at about 11pm. DH came up to tuck me in and the next think I knew it was 1.30am and he was sound asleep, fully dressed, beside me. I tried to wake him up but he protested. I was so sleepy, I didn’t think to check the crochet hooks and knitting needles. They must have been creeping upstairs to play with the sewing machine in the back bedroom!
At 3.30am, I realised I could hear the television downstairs, got up, switched everything off, put the goose in the fridge - lucky our kitchen was as cold as the fridge - and went back to bed. Himself was still fully dressed and only half-awake when I got up, but awake enough to get undressed and go brush his teeth by the time I got back upstairs.
Sorry to hear about the boiler, @Laura_Elsewhere. Hopefully they’ll be able to get a plumber out tomorrow.
@TwibbleDee, sounds like a very long day. Bless you. I hope the church members appreciate your hard work.
@Maddiemay, @PollyWollyDoodle, @Cherryfudge, @thriftwizard, @MrsCD, @joedenise, @CraftyLittleLisa, @Laura_Elsewhere, @TwibbleDeeand everyone else who has contributed to this thread over the year, thank you. It has been a tough year for all of us and you have all made it a little easier.
