They are so sweet Laura! As a very beginner crocheter I might even be able to manage them!Stash busting challenge 2025: 0/100 £0/£100 Fashion on the ration 2025: 0/666

@keepcalmandcraft, I bet you could! Just be prepared for the first few to be a bit wonky - I did four the first time and next day my first (fifth) one was miles better, so I ended up undoing the first four
But even the wonky ones still looked cute
It is only two stitches, the UK double-crochet and single-crochet. That's all...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all! It's Thanksgiving Day in the US. If I were with y'all, I'd make the full turkey dinner with all the trimmings. However, hubby doesn't appreciate a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, so we'll be doing chicken fried steak. Tomorrow, because he was called out today.
I made chocolate chip muffins this morning. Broke the blade on my mixer. The 2-year replacement warranty on it expires tomorrow. I sent a message, and am hopeful that they'll respond and send me a new mixing blade. I can't buy that specific blade by itself, and we don't really have the money for me to upgrade right now (we didn't 2 years ago, which is why I have a knockoff and not a KitchenAid). I told hubby how much a KitchenAid costs, and he said that he should have asked for a list of everything expensive that I'd eventually want before we got married so he could run away then.2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. They are now, they weren't then
Most supermarkets have them, as do good market stalls, along with other 'new' and 'exotic' things like okra...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Hello Laura,Many thanks for your advice re the dyeing of acrylic wool. I'll take your advice and give that a miss I think, however your advice of how to brighten up the white wool is really good. I have a few bits left over from previous projects (bright yellow, blue and red) which would work well I think for a stripy effect. Your idea about the washing bag is also a really good idea. Those cuffs you have made are very pretty and the paperclip ice skates are very cute.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons4

Hello Pip - I know I could knit a jumper but I just don't have the motivation. I have knitted a few cardigans for babies / toddlers so I know I can do the techniques but I am so slow. The big advantage of knitting for babies / young children is that the garments are quicker to knit as they are small and accurate sizing is not that critical as providing it is larger than they are they will grow into it eventually! I don't tend to knit for very young babies as they usually get given a lot of small clothes so tend to go for something bigger 6 months to a year depending on when it might get more use - means any delay in knitting it is of no impact.Another reason is now I've knitted a few cardigans I know how it works so its more interesting to play at new things - like socks (still to finish as been put on one side for the Christmas hats), colour work, mittens (only made ones so far for babies as they don't have thumbs on), cables....Also my sister's weight has varied quite a bit recently so there is a real risk that by the time I finished the jumper it might not fit her so i think a hat is safer, I could always do a scarf to go with it and maybe even some mittens if I work out how to knit them but no chance of those this side of christmas.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons4

That's 6lbs of mincemeat in the oven for 3 hours at the lowest temp... I only realised when I had to give up on the largest mixing-bowl and use a clean unused washing-up bowl to mix it in that normally I make only half- or even quarter-amounts, not the full recipe...
Ah well, it keeps well!
Now to darn My Intended's hosues and jumper, and then there's washing-up to do, and Xmas presents to make...It is a bit of a grim grey day out there, not as chilly as I expected on our Morning Trot - we added a bit extra to bump it up to 1.5 miles from 1.3. Just sort of muddy and grey, really, though.Onwards! Upwards! Aux darning-needles, citoyennes!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
