It looks pretty, though, doesn't it? Reminds me of Laura Ashley patterns from the 80s, so maybe its something dseigned by her as well as the vintage piece you spotted in the box!.
Well done on doing so well at the auction though.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.
Fashion on the Ration - 27.5/66 ( 5 - shoes, 1.5 - bra, 11.5 - 2 pairs of shoes and another bra, 5- t-shirt, 1.5 yet another bra!) 3 coupons swimming costume.5 -
BTW, if any of you should actually want some, it'd be free, just the cost of the postage. It's one that won't sell here; it'd be gone in a flash at my regular markets, but currently none of those are running until next spring at the earliest! And I'm trying very hard not to hang onto fabric or yarn that I don't have a clear & immediate use for...Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

@thriftwizard, I *might* be interested but not quite sure - trying not to acquire fabric I don't have a clear and immediate use for!!!
But it wouldn't be free - this is your living, so 'free' would be taking advantage of your kindness.2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I could definitely see a short, straight skirt in that - would look lovely with boots and thick tights! BUT see references above to number of outstanding projects. I do agree with Laura though, it wouldn't be free. Although I am a little bit worried we are turning you into the equivalent of a World War II spiv ...

I have a feeling I'm more of a "pusher" than a spiv! "Go on, just a little, it won't do you any harm, there's no such thing as too much fabric..."Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)7

You know what it reminds me of? Does anyone remember the Australian singer, John Paul Young? ("Love is in the air", etc, from Muriel's Wedding and Strictly Ballroom). On his very first appearance on television, he wore a shirt made in a similarly patterned fabric and had it torn from him by the audience. This was on "Countdown", the Australian version of Top of the Pops.
I am very tempted to purchase a length off you, @thriftwizard. It speaks to me of a full-ish skirt, worn with a white blouse and a tweed jacket. No idea where I'd find a pattern... (And, as the others have said, it would be a purchase. This is your livelihood.)
Incidentally, speaking of patterns... If you fancy purchasing a pattern online but can't face printing it followed by the inevitable sticky-taping together a dozen pages of A4, I've heard of a website service where you can send your pattern and they'll print it for you on A0. It's called patternsy. It was mentioned in the (revived) podcast, Knit.Spin.Cake.
Have a good day, Ladies.

@TwibbleDee I'm not laughing. I;'m not laughing. I'm not laughing....
@PipneyJane - I agree a fullish skirt, although I also wondered about a pair of breeches...
@thriftwizard, how much would it be for 5 yards, and what width is it please? And can i PayPal you for a quid to post me a little snippet so I can see its colour and weight and so on, please?2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

It's 60"/150cm wide, Laura, and of course I could send you a snippet! Will PM you my PP. And if you really insist on paying, once you've seen it for yourself, it'd be £2 per yard.Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)4

It's rare that I'm grateful I can't follow a pattern! For once I am, though, otherwise I would be making a full skirt, too (80s style, for me). I sew quite well by hand but I couldn't manage anything trickier than a hem, so I will bow out and wait for you ladies to post pictures of your finished projects.
ETA Or one of those cord pinafore dresses for those more up to date than I am.
