I bought something new! Took my mother home yesterday, to be looked after by a live-in carer for now, and went to buy in some basic groceries for the carer. And there's a pop-up shop in the village... supposedly a French Boutique, but actually all glorious Indian cotton, kantha-stitched quilts & throws & silk wraps. So I invested in a gorgeous floaty shirt in soft turquoise & pink paisley prints, which I shall wear over jeans or skirt & t-shirt; it could have been a lovely lightweight nightie, if it were a little bigger around the bust, but it isn't. (In fact it would probably be a man's shirt in India, as it's wide across the shoulders but not elsewhere. Quite long though.)
Showed my two best friends the potential wedding "outfits" today, and they prefer the blue floral Phase 8 dress although both dresses got oohs & aahs. I think it'll come down to the weather in the end; floaty pink Jacques Vert silk if it's blazing hot, stylish blue Phase 8 if cooler, as it's altogether sturdier. I now have a pair of pink suede court shoes, £8 inc. p&p on Ebay, and they're pristine, so must hunt up some blue ones too. First day back in the office after vacation. Truck won't be fixed until next week. We had to choose carefully what we brought back in my tiny car. I have to do laundry today. I did bring back my yarn, so I can continue with the whole knitting project. Mom told me when she bought me the yarn and the needles that it better be a project that lasts me more than an afternoon. I'm pretty certain that even the people who've been knitting for ages take longer than that to do a pair of socks!

Its finally rained , and cooled the air down a little - hurrah, Fiona's brain is working again. I wish I could say that I've done loads and loads, but I haven't really, sorting out the roofer to inspect my parents roof, their church's Saturday morning event - coffee, raffle, produce and a few craft stalls, (OH takes his woodturning, son takes his blacksmithing, my mum takes her cards, so a real family affair!), a BBQ on Sunday, and then taking my mum to the doctors on Monday afternoon - I'm worn out with all that and the heat as well.
Glad to hear the op went ok for your fella, Laura. I hope that he is starting to feel a bit better now. Also, that you are getting used to stabbing him each night. I couldn't do it, I don't think, as I hate needles!
Sorry to hear about the truck, TwibbleDee. An expense you could have done without, I 'm sure, having just come back from holiday.
