The interest showed up on my loan account today so I can accurately predict my loan balance on Tuesday (turns out Monday is a bank holiday 🤷♀️)
Balance will be: £2,230
New DFD: 01/10/2022
I currently have £2,910 in my emergency fund. The only thing stopping me from paying the loan off next week is that I like to keep the suggested £1,000 balance in the EF. It's worth the extra £6 in interest for peace of mind. I am going to request a settlement figure w/b Monday 24th May as it looks like Monday 31st May is another bank holiday so I should get paid on Friday 28th. Hopefully nothing drastic will happen between now and then.
I'm so close I can taste the freedom!Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

I'm not paying anything across this week. I really pushed it last week and it felt a bit tight. Having said that, I had £2 left this week so I've transferred that to the EF instead. It doesn't really matter either way at the moment but it keeps the loan balance a nice round number.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

That was such a lovely weekend. We did loads, spent time with my family and with bf's family (they live in a different city and we've not seen them much over the past year). The weather was lovely yesterday so we were able to be outdoors. Was just such a good weekend.
One problem, I had to pay out a large amount unexpectedly. I knew it was coming but didn't expect it until around September. Bright side, I won't need to pay it out in September now. I am still on track for paying the loan off in about a fortnight but it means my emergency fund will be next to £0 for a few days and I'll be a bit behind on building it back up again. Going to stick to my plan though.
I've been a bit spendy. Bought some hand towels for the bathroom. I only had 4 which was fine before covid and during lockdown but now I'm washing them every time we have been outside and with LMG back to work 28 hours that is often. I just got cheap ones from Primark but they do the job.
We had coffee and scones at the local garden centre. The coffees were free but I paid for the scones as LMG paid last weekend.
I bought some pest control spray for some flies I found on my new plant. Turned out it was a different plant that brought the flies in so that has been put out now. I wasn't keen on the other plant anyway so no love lost there but I do adore my new plant so I'm glad it's ok.
It is bf's daughter's birthday today so I bought a small gift for her.
I had to pay for the car insurance. I pay yearly and it is budgeted for, I save the money aside each month but it still hurts to pay it out.
I have £9 left in my allowance until Friday so I cannot spend any more. Got a couple of meet ups with family and friends over the next couple of weeks so I need to hold on to cash.
I hope everyone else had a lovely (and less spendy) weekend too.

I am trying to pay any extras into the EF at the moment, ready for the big payout which will now be in less than a fortnight.
Just had a £5 payout from PA so sent that across. I am still clinging on to the £9 left in my allowance this week and if that is still in my account tomorrow night I'll pay that over too.
I need to hang on to next week's allowance as I have two afternoon teas to attend. One was a Christmas present from my sis and we are going together. I might need enough money for one drink but she paid for the voucher so it's not an expensive day out.
The other one, my cousin paid for. We meet up about every 6 months for a wee afternoon tea out but we haven't seen each other in over a year. She bought a voucher and has booked it. I'm taking the car to this one as it's nearer where she lives (about 1.5 hours from me) so I won't be drinking alcohol. I want to hold on to some money though, just in case something crops up.
I am very much looking forward to both days out. I spend regular time with both of these ladies and I've missed being able to do that.
Countdown is on to DFD. My plan is to request a settlement figure on 24th and uplift the exact figure from the EF the same day. That will arrive in my account the following day and I'll pay it across to settle the loan right away. It will take about 2 working days to show in my loan account so I should be celebrating on Thursday 27th at the earliest or Friday 28th at the latest.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
