@LadyWithAPlan I might have said this before but I've had to ban myself from crisps because I have no self control, to the point I've eaten the multipack and my mouth very much hurts for the next 3 days!5 -

I have tried banning myself from crisps and sweets and managed successfully for long periods but then ... . I have even done 2 whole years with no artificial sugar so no choc, sweets, cakes and biscuits with exception of a week break at Xmas - but when I get stresses and need short term energy its the easy answer especially as I have a gluten/dairy issue so when I travel it can be difficult.

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
