Ooh, and you KP! You snuck in there when I was typing!
The flat needs everything.... New kitchen, bathroom, windows, internal doors, furniture, appliances, mundane stuff like plastering and sockets, carpets, decorating.... Basically the only things staying are the front door and the radiators 🤣 While I'm at it, I'm also going to go totally mad and replace stuff that doesn't even need replacing, like my bedding from 2005 and my crockery from 2002 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I am so very sneaky. :ninja:
Will you get it all done at once or one room at a time? I quite like the B&Q internal door selection, but then I haven't looked elsewhere. Do you know how you want the kitchen to be? My neighbours are raving about Howdens kitchens.4 -
I've heard good things about Howdens as well. There is a Youtuber that does up homes and shows you each step and he uses them. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjml7gswLIpqgVyZzIuCAJA£60,000 left to pay

I've not got as far as thinking about it yet - deliberately not thinking as I have £20k to save up first (after everything else) so we're a long way off yet 😮😮😮! All I know is I want lots of bright shiny white!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

We had a Howdens kitchen fitted five years ago, and have been very pleased. Their design service was good - we got designs from them, Wickes, and Magnet, and they helped us find suppliers when there were things we wanted that they didn't do, they also came in about a quarter of the price of Magnet

Congratulations South_coast! 👏 🎉
And good luck with the new savings goals 😀Can I ask why you've opted to save in a LISA over a SIPP? As a homeowner I can't see any way of making a LISA work for me. If I've missed a positive angle I'll need to know soon as I won't be allowed to open one for much longer! 👴5 -
Thank you SSS!
No idea why I went for a LISA really 🤣 except that I already had 3 pensions at the mercy of the markets (now 4, but I have started transferring a small private one into the new work one). It's a cash one and forms quite a large part of the "cash" element of my ER plans - couldn't think of another way of getting guaranteed 25% growth whilst still keeping the underlying balance completely risk-free!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
