I always think as I’m answering, if I was mortgage free do they really think I’d be spending my time answering their surveys? (But then again, I think it’s such an ingrained part of my life that for some the answer is probably yes!)
Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Sadly, I'll definitely be carrying on 🙁 Becoming MF is only step one of a very long plan!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

All caught up...sad I missed the biscuit chat but so excited for you and the last of the mortgage payments! Will next payday be the final one?5

Yes but it is a plan. Regardless of something being a long way away, working towards a plan and showing progress is a great thing.
I miss the biscuits too @Sholly5 -

🤦♀️! To clarify, you're all free to eat biscuits whenever you like - just stop talking about them on here 🤣!
Will have to have a think on the details regarding "making the payment". In my head I'm going to call them that morning, they'll give me a redemption figure and I'll pay it off - by debit card? Is that how it works? If I send them a faster payment like I normally do then won't I accrue some more interest before it credits? Or does it really arrive with them within two hours (like all other faster payments) and it's just them updating the balance that takes days? We also have the added complication that the day after I'm aiming to make the payment the direct debit is due out, but it won't actually come out until 3 days later than that because of the Bank Holiday (although they usually apply it to the balance at the right time, before the money has left the account) - so will the figure they give me include that or not? Aargh, first world problems, I know. Maybe I'll have a little live chat with them in between and get them to talk me through how it worksMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Your redemption figure will be for the amount outstanding on that day.
As long as your payment is credited on that day you should be good.
Personally I'd pay it by debit card, mainly because I think it would feel more real in person, rather than an electronic payment. If it's not adding up, compound it!4
