Oh you reminded me to activate the nectar Christmas thing on the app although I've been shopping at Tesco for the past couple of weeks because they sent me really good money off vouchers. I think I really got me head around what I wanted to do money wise in April really and have kind of stuck to the plan (although the unnecessary spending could still be reduced a bit). This year has certainly had it's ups and downs and you're right, we have no idea what's going to happen next year either (that's not at all depressing!) Hope the dresses work out for you - I've had to restrain myself from buying work wear because it's not like I'm going to have to be in the office anytime soon.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20175

It's been such a weird year, and so hard to make plans. Agree that thinking about next year is hard too - who knows where we'll be!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I took a trip out to Sainsbury's first thing this morning, partly to see what I'm like driving, and *cough* partly because it's the last day of last week's offers and I didn't want to miss out 🤦♀️ So £5 of points cashed-in, 170 points gained on the offers, and 200 points gained for hitting the next threshold on the Christmas count-up (apparently that wasn't the top level, as it's now saying if I get another 546 points they'll give me a further 250). Cost to SC = 88p. Additional points gained = £1.85. My leg was OK driving, but my groin (where the vein passes through) is very sore. Don't think I could risk any trips where I'd get stuck in traffic and using the clutch a lot yet (it's my left leg), so I think work is off the cards for next week. Now back to resting 😐 And maybe some Nectar surveys 😀
Came home and did £2.20-worth of Streetbees, as there was loads on there out of the blue. I'm at £4.98 approved on Prolific, so keeping a close eye out for the next approval so I can withdraw!
And next year? Well, who knows? We've got our much-postponed trip now booked for October, and I'll be filling up the holiday pot to the budgeted £1k, but no clue whether I'll be able to use it. I would love to get away for a few days (much as I love my town, with working at home/being at home and not working I feel like I've seen rather a lot of it this year), but I just can't see when that's going to happen? BF hasn't even made plans for Christmas this year, and we normally start arguing about how many people he's invited in early September 😮!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Ooh, I forgot I also got a 3x points voucher from the till, but think I will gift that to BF as I never spend enough real money to actually collect points on my shopping 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Absolutely Jess re saving/smashing the mortgage in the meantime!
No plans made here for Christmas either - how can you? I suspect we’ll either spend it at home or maybe see the in laws if we’re allowed. A very quiet and different Christmas to normal. I’m thinking our chiminea and mince pies for solstice might be repeated this year!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Not being Moroccan properly made me laugh 😂 and yes, I'd be surprised if next year is much better than this one is.Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Ah yes, but then all those blogs about mindfulness and intentionality would be telling you off for not savouring every moment of our short time on earth etc etc etc!
Another £1.70 on Streetbees this morning. Lots of photos needed, felt all Anneka Rice running round the house turfing stuff out of cupboards 🤣! Good exercise for the leg though I guess! I also got my Prolific payment yesterday, but annoyingly the one pending payment which got approved was for £1.25 (I only needed 2p!) so I've only got £2.85 pending now. First world problems....😀Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
