@savingholmes oh wow thank you I would have never guessed that - tech/ search engines not something I have any knowledge of tbh but does make sense.2

Also - but more for financial institutions and parking complaints, it can be that they can see the case you are building especially if you use exact amounts. That is probably not a good idea.
I had not thought about the mis-spellings protecting the diaries from random matches on random searches although personally I assume anything on the internet is publicly available so do not regard this diary as private although if my boss waved it in my face I might be a bit non-plussed. Although I would probably use it as an excise for a pay riseI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks for the explanation re the company name spellings Mark and Savingholmes. Definitely worth knowing.
Yes Mark I had a great run with my debt clearing. Whilst the full lockdown was a horrible time it was great for me financially in that with being so limited on being able to spend I was able to pay off lots of balance transfer debt. It’s down to around 5,700 now which is much more manageable, although imoving a lot more slowly now.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 52 -
A lot of us are probably more identifiable than is ideal here too - I’ve never been overly concerned as I’m careful (plus my circumstances allow) me to be extremely selective about what detail I put in here. I’d always suggest for example that someone entering income in an SOA rounds down to remove odd pennies as that could be a factor in someone from their work identifying them. Personally I wouldn’t use anything that referred directly to my first or surnames either but then both are relatively unusual - and in truth my first name would be easily traceable elsewhere if someone was that bothered. It’s good to have a reminder to be REALLY mindful about what you write though I think - here and elsewhere on social media, because after all, that is what this place is!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi @mark55man - sorry, a bit off the current topic, but just to say that I've just been dipping into your diary and love the way you integrate so many different parts of life - looking after our own finances, our health, our communities and our environment. And with song lyrics too!
really appreciate it!

Well done Antomac on the debt clearance.
EH. If my boss came on she'd immediately recognise my diary. I am more concerned about family really but try to be mindful when I post but still work on the basis my identity could become public at some point.

@Strether2020 - thank you - always nice to get a compliment. Where would we be without our favourite tunes! The good thing with being older, but with kids, is that you have been exposed to so many generations of music from your family, from your interests and then from the kids.
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Without a song or a dance, what are we? :-) That's such a good point about kids - Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift wouldn't have been in my life without my daughter...3

Fun night last night, OH and I went out for a coffee with our besties and that turned into a drink, that turned into a curry and a couple of beers. Not very MSE but enormously good for the soul.
Was a little extravagant partly because I just met a difficult deadline at work and needed some release, and partly because my work had a good year and I will get a small bonus which makes my xmas CC3 plans real again.
So when my paycheque hits, I am going to use that a bit of my EF to clear CC3 which has been hovering at the £3K mark for months now, then clear CC1 (£500) which I have been using for this months spending to protect OD and to get rewards. That will leave me with just under £3K in my EF + enough in my current AC that I should not need to use either of the CCs again.
The light at the end of the tunnel is approaching and its not a **** train.I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
