  • I've knitted and decorated another fiddle blanket today - not going to call them trauma blankets any more. I started it this morning when we went out in the car: an hour's journey saw half of it done, and I knitted the rest during the afternoon. Decorated it tonight.

So another one to add to my total gradually creeping up!

Wow everyone has made so much so far this year.

Am still at 0/150 but knitting a new long scarf which seems to be never-ending at the moment - am hoping I might be able to get it finished by the end of the week. Then want to do something different for a couple of weeks...

Keep going everyone, you’re all doing amazingly!!!

That scarf sounds amazing Betharooni -just think of all the wool you are stash busting and it will definitely be worth it when you are finished. Thanks for the encouragement :T:T:T

Wahoo - you are fast worker! :D:D:D

I love the fiddle blanket name - fits them perfectly :j:j:j

You are putting me to shame the way you are storming towards your total - well done :T:T:T

  • Thank you craftingmad, but you're steaming ahead too. Had a meeting this morning with the fiddle blanket ladies, handed over 17 finished ones, and brought home another 26 to decorate and finish! That will use up a lot more embellishments, good.

Also decided to re-name them Feel the Love sensory mats....much easier explanation than trauma blankets because they're not blankets, they're the size of a placemat, and they're not for just trauma patients, but for anyone anxious that needs calming down in the hospital environment.

Got a hankering to get my machine out and do some sewing, but not sure what. I've got umpteen sets of bunting to make, so might have a go at one of those.

  • Sorry, made a mistake on the number I brought home, 16 not 26!!!

Love that name even more loopychriss and you have restored my faith in humanity by the kindness you have shown and continue to show with these Feel the Love mats. :T:T:T Another 16 will certainly help bust your stash and you have inspired me to put some of my crafting stash to good use by making some cards and bookmarks for an owl charity near my Mother In Laws (my business name is Emma Owl so it seems appropriate that I help them and its one of my favourite places to go) :):):)

Cannot wait to hear all about your bunting and anything else you get the urge to make :j:j:j

I'm declaring a further 5 makes today (all sticker sheets for orders) but have to admit that I should have really made many more things but instead chose to have afternoon tea with my neighbours at a local hotel. The pull of the cake was just too great :p:p:p

These manage to pull my total into the 90's now though so I'm getting there very slowly but working my way up to a busy creating day tomorrow :D:D:D

So my total is now 93/2020 :j:j:j

Aw thanks craftingmad, very kind of you to say. I love helping out with things like this, used to knit squares for blankets for the homeless too. Started off as a local project, now has grown into a national thing with many pods in various locations, all knitting squares, getting them sewn into blankets and giving to the homeless in their local areas.

I also make morsbags (https://www.morsbags.com) when I'm in a sewing mood. Must get back to making those too.

The bunting will be sold to raise funds for my disabled grandson's future care fund. He has a chromosome missing which means he will need everything doing for him for the rest of his life.

So I've always been involved in making things for other people!

I picked up some more sensory mats today, and have decorated one already this afternoon/evening. So another 1 to add to total, as I've used up some embellishments.

  • I had a sort out of all my books last weekend, and decluttered 3 dolls' house books. Took then to a charity bookshop today, so 3 more to add to my total.

You are a crafting machine and an inspiration loopychriss. If you would like me to make some cards and some other bits to help raise funds for your grandson then I am more than happy to -just let me know :)

And well done on decluttering. It is on my list but I'm not very good at letting things go - even when I know I will never use them again. It drives my husband insane :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
