New Build - Blocked Drain (we told Persimmon 5 months ago)

Hi all,
Me and my partner moved into our new build Persimmon home 6 months ago. After 1 month in the home we noticed our SVP Chamber was blocked and told Persimmon. We've been nagging Persimmon about this for 5 months and now our downstairs toilet is completely blocked. Someone did come to look at this issue after around 3 months but said it was too big of a job and they'd come back and we haven't heard anything since.
Has anyone had any success claiming compensation from Persimmon or advice regarding this problem? We're still waiting for a number of other things to be fixed which we told them about at our Home demo.
Many thanks

Is the development complete or are sales still on site?0

They are still on the development and will be for another year or 2.0

Why didn't you get someone to rod the drains?0

Because it's Persimmon's responsibility given we told them within our first month of moving in..0

It really isn't, unless you can prove that it's something defective with the build itself. For all they know, you could have been flushing nappies and wipes down the toilet for a month.
They are experts are running the clock down on their build warranty, you need to get your act together on this.0 -
I'd get around to the sale office and explain to them that they have a week to sort the issue before signs start appearing in your garden/house advising future buyers to avoid the development like a plague - complete with photo's of the problem, showing the "quality" of the build future buyers can expect.
I'd imagine it won't take them long at all to show interest in fixing the problem if potential future buyers are being put off....
If you can park your car legally on the road next to the sales office, you could do so with more signs/photo's attached to the window.... See how long it takes for them to fix the issue if you make it THEIR problem0 -
Perfect, just kick up a stink in the sales office until it’s sorted!
Wait until the office has prospective buyers in there. Castigating sales staff in front of customers usually gets their attention.
That said, the sales staff are sometimes co-opted from a local estate agent, so don't really have any power. So after making a stink in there, go round to the site office and grab hold of the site manager. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Yep and who is getting screwed?
From the same link:In February, the company announced that its annual profits had passed £1bn for the first time - up from £966m in 2017.
Of course house prices aren't over inflated:(0
