Glad things are settling down for you. We are making over the house and garden - using paint and elbow grease but loving the effect so far. We are part way through painting our fences a deep grey that looks almost blue in some lights but really sets off the greenery.

  • It sounds like we’re busy doing similar things Savingholmes, I’ve started tackling the garden, which has never had any tlc. Dug a huge border and filled with shrubs, stripped and repainted patio ballustrade, ordered shed and new fencing. Currently decorating son’s bedroom, need to get new bed & put up shelves. Got jet2 flights reimbursed, which is going into house&garden fund.

Got vets tomorrow for hurty dog, which is usually an expensive visit. Also hospital Tomorrow for son with broken collarbone. Not been able to do anything this week as limited mobility all round, so took the kids out for lunch to take advantage of half price meal scheme. First time out in 6 months, which was lovely.

Glad you had a good time out and I hope your son and dog recover quickly. Well done on the work in the home and garden. It feels so much better once its done. I need to push through and finish tidying the kitchen after painting the cupboards and tiles. It looks so much fresher in a grey and white colour scheme rather than beech and cream. Still got a few things on order but hopefully it will all come together soon.

  • Thanks SH, son seems to Be coping really well. I’ve finished his room, very MSE as already had paint. Sold his loft bed and found matching furniture to his existing at Ikea’s bargain corner, So it’s almost been a cost free make-over so far. Still no bed, 2 visits to Ikea, But not in stock,  there appears to be a national bed shortage.

Next jobs:dig another border in garden ready for new fence, Finish painting kitchen walls, finish painting study walls.

Do you have a diary SH? I can’t seem to find yours.

  • Thanks beanieLou, He seems happy enough without a bed! Started new border, changed to new vets and fixed sewing machine. Work starts on Monday, so the home improvements will slow down now.

  • A quiet month, weary of saying in, although it’s been lovely being busy back at work. Dug And filled another Border and most importantly, I’ve finally got my will drawn up after several years on the ‘to do’ list. I’d like life to return to normal now please.......
  • Well done on doing your will. We did ours last year. The next thing for us would be to do the medical wishes type form and power of attorney but we weren't ready for that - and they aren't cheap.
