How was your comping year?

As we come to the end of 2019 how did you do in competitions overall?
I am pleased with what i won, nearly £3,000. I don't usually keep count of the amount but as i do the compers challenge i try to write the value there.
I have won items that are for myself and family members and even the dog got lucky this year, lol. Nothing goes to waste as i also give to charities and school fates. Not forgetting fun days where i work. I am still after the big one, a car or large amount from one of the radio comps but i am sure my time will come.Whatever your hoping to win i hope it comes to you in 2020.

2019 was definately my best year yet! I was very lucky, I am finding I'm winning a lot less on the MD, a couple of years ago I would average 2-3 wins per month, last year I won 6 in the whole year, but I had a very good year overall, 2018 was my worst year however, but I kept on as I do enjoy it, though it is just a hobby so when I win anything it's a bonus, hoping my lucky dust will stay with me, wishing all compers lots of good luck
  • I only started earlier this year and it wasn't too bad. I'm pretty limited in what I can apply for, I generally don't apply for holidays or household goods as I rent a property that already has white goods and is only one bedroom so can't store much.

Off the top of my head I've won:
    - A box of mars milkshakes!
    - 6 bars of Brighton Cacao Chocolate Bars
    - 2 boxes of Eat Natural Fruit & Nut bars
    - £200 Superdry Voucher
    - Bottle of Gin which I gifted to a friend

Definitely not as much as other people but free food and clothes which I always like!
Single woman doing it on my own... First house bought June 2021!
Mortgage end date: 2041. Goal: Anything less!
    Mortgage currently paid off: 4%
  • Well done all you posters above me - 2019 was winless for me so 2020 can only get better.

Will still try to win as long as it does not become a chore - if that happens I give it a rest for a while and do something else but I'm always drawn back.

My worst year by far since I started in 2009, started off OK but since Sept have only had one very small win each month.
Not going to give up though, hopefully things will pick up in the new year.

Glad to hear others are doing well. wishing everyone good luck for 2020.

My worst year so far in over 10 years, won 17 prizes with a total value of approx £6000 which is still pretty good but compared to last year when I won over 25k in prizes it's pretty poor by my standards!

But 2019 was a rubbish year in general for me, lots of family issues going on which has meant I really haven't been very focused - I'm determined to get my mojo back and win some great prizes in 2020! Plus I've found out I'm going to be a Grandma next Summer so I will be on a mission to win lots of baby items :)

I think this has been one of my better years for prizes. I have been a lot more fussy about what I want to enter and therefore don't enter as many as I used to. However being selective seems to have paid off

    Wins this year include

    A Radley handbag

    2 watches

A prize worth £2000 - i had a big list of options to choose from for this so included £50 Hobbycraft voucher, £50 Amazon voucher, £100 restaurant vouchers, £50 cinema vouchers, £50 Tesco vouchers, Xbox One, Kindle, 2 fitbits, Ipad mini, weber bbq, board games, bluetooth speaker

    4 Alton Towers tickets

    Football tickets

Signed Michael Murpago print and Grandpa Christmas Book

Little bits included a teddy bear, a tennis ball for my dad's dog, a sanctuary spa giftset, signed photo of Jenson Button, Baylis and Harding gift set

I wasn't comping for a large part of this year, so not much to report.

I won a lovely notebook back in September, but that's all.

Good luck to all for 2020.

I have been comping for many years but this was my worst year ever.
I won a 32inch TV and some jigsaws and that was all.
Fingers crossed for a better year in 2020.

    Good luck everyone.

Started well with my first mag daily win a few days into the year - a vacuum cleaner which I sold for £100.

Then won another £100 with That's Life in February, and a £200 ASOS voucher in March.

Nothing since then though, and am currently on my biggest ever dry spell of over 9 months.

My Mum did have a couple of cash wins totalling £600 though, which she shared with me 50/50. :p
