  • hate the look of soundbases, dont mind soundbars or speakers as my tv is wall mounted and there is 15cm underneath that soundbar or speakers would fit.

After a bit of research im tempted to get a sonos beam with a sonos subwoofer, comes to 900 quid but both get amazing reviews?

That's a lot of money extra to pay for a sub considering you can get a standalone Sonos Beam for £320.

Try it without first.....Many people consider the Sub to be a waste of money in normal surroundings.....That said the sub is excellent, even if unnecessary.

Does anyone know if the Sky soundbox is any good?
I started out with nothing......And still have most of it left:p
  • Do you have a richer sounds with a sound room local to you?

Could give them all a try and see which one takes your fancy.
  • Would an AV receiver, floor standers and centre speaker not be a better option than a mid range sound bar for the money?

I use KEF EGG speakers, which are two compact speakers with hi-fi sound quality, onboard DAC, and multiple inputs including optical. They are good as PC speakers and general music speakers too. There is a matching compact sub-bass cube as well but it really isn't required.

Currently available here for £199 which is a bargain. I paid £50 more than that for an open-box pair four years ago.

  • ive just been looking at the q80r by samsung harmon kardon, twice the price of my last unit but reviews seem a lot better overall and the weight of the soundbar is twice the last one i had. Seen it on offer for 750.

Just stumbled across this, is this worth the money do you think?
