Tapi carpet laminate floor returns policy

So today I went and got myself 12 packs of laminate flooring from a tapi carpets store. When I get home I decide I don’t really like the colour in the room so would like to return it. Does any one know the returns policy on laminate flooring to tapi. I have a look online and it’s says if your return one pack (i.e. extra/)they only offer 50% refund due to potentially not having that batch left in store but I would be returning the whole amount?

Aside from the section you've found there doesn't appear to be any returns policy on their site.

As it was not an online order any change of mind returns are at their discretion so you'll have to call them to ask.

I did call but the person on the phone didn’t sound convinced it was a “I think you can” I took his name so hopefully I can. Not very good there’s no returns policy anywhere

They don't need to publish a returns policy as the law only required that faulty goods be accepted for refund. Anything more than that is entirely discretionary as the vendor sees fit.

My other half has just received an email receipt and in the terms and conditions it says this

“ Laminate Flooring & Luxury Vinyl Tile
Our in-store samples show only a small part of the overall design as this will have been taken from a larger piece. There may be a significant variation in the colour and design of your floor due to the random nature which occurs with wood and other natural materials, from which the design has been taken. We believe this enhances the natural look and overall appearance of our floors.
The suppliers fitting and maintenance instructions should be carefully followed to prevent swelling of the joints or other expansion problems. Laminate flooring will be affected by moisture and wet mopping is therefore not recommended. For further information please consult our floor care guide. Whilst many of the products we sell are available to purchase in square metres, our luxury vinyl tile and laminate flooring are purchased by the box. When estimating appropriate floor coverage for your installation approximately 5% (rounded up to the nearest box) will need to be added to your order to allow for colour matching between boxes and wastage during fitting. If you have a surplus box or two after fitting, we would suggest these be stored on a flat dry surface for future use. These are often useful to be kept should an accident occur enabling you to swap a couple of planks or tiles. Any unopened boxes which are returned will be refunded at 50% of the original box purchase price.”

Where do you think we would stand returning the item?

Also if it would be the case that they only offer 50% could we argue that we weren’t made aware of this and didn’t receive the receipt with the terms of return until a few hours after purchase?

They don't need to make you aware of anything. As above, the default is that you're not entitled to any refund for a change of mind, so getting 50% is a bonus.

Not really sure receiving the receipt later is relevant.

Regardless of when you got the receipt you liked it when you bought it and only when you got home did you deem it not suitable.

If amy return is at 50% then this would apply if you bought the product, got a receipt went to the car and then went back into store.

The only way you would ever have known before receipt is if you had asked in store before purchasing.

Goodluck but it doesnt sound like a full refund will be provided.
