    With the deadline being 4th Jan 2020 am I right in thinking that if they took up to 28 days the deadline would have passed and it would remain in my dad's name?
    Always a possibility. The next steps actions of a predator are always difficult to predict, other than ultimately they want to eat you!

    Update: VCS have said that the liability will be transferred to my name and the charge will start afresh in my name. Hoping that this will make contesting it a bit less confusing!

    OK so you should get a PCN to appeal, but appeals are a farce and won't work, just so you know. So in the end you will be defending a court claim.
