in Credit cards
Hello, I just recently applied for a Debenhams Credit Card. After a couple of hours I read some stuff online and cancelled it. Is it gonna be a big problem?

What sort of problems do you think it might cause?Life in the slow lane0
-
No it won't be a problem
mind you 'stuff online' is not always a good way of making decisions0 -
Thanks you guys. I thought it would cause some problems for my credit score.0

It will lower your credit score but that's ok. Lenders won't have a problem with it.0

It was mostly about their customer service.0

Their customer service is fairly good compared to the average0

I have an Aqua card and an Amazon card. They are both from same NewDay stable as the Debenhams card. I have never had a problem with them. But then I pay the full statemented balance each month. Maybe people have problems when they carry a balance...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -
How would their alleged poor customer service affect your credit score.....and evrn if it did why would it matter?
Ridiculous logic.....I have had numerous cards over many years and not once have I needed to speak to customer services.0 -
Which is it?
Your apparent “credit score” or the poor customer service?
First point - your score is seen by you and only you.
Be prepared for the score to now plummet due to a search carried out for the credit application, the account being added to your files and then moved to closed.
Any “negative” factor affects your score, but I digress, it matters not.
Regarding customer service - ignore any reviews on TrustPilot and the like - people post negatives as a way of ranting and getting things out of their systems.
I have and have had cards with NewDay and have no issues with them - in fact I’ve never had to call/email etc and speak to a person.0
