ignore any reviews on TrustPilot and the like - people post negatives as a way of ranting and getting things out of their systems.

    Prime example.

How would their alleged poor customer service affect your credit score.....and evrn if it did why would it matter?

Ridiculous logic.....I have had numerous cards over many years and not once have I needed to speak to customer services.

Er.... no. Fairly obviously: OP closed the account because of their alleged poor customer service and was concerned that closing the account immediately after opening it would negatively affect their credit score.

The only possible negative here will likely be a hard search on your file. If you cancelled the card within the statutory cooling off period it should never appear on your file.

The hard search should still show up even if it never appears as a open account.

Would other providers view it as "bad" that a application "hard search" was made but there is not account open?

They'll probably assume the account is open for the next month or so though.
