Custom made tooth veneers refund advice?

Hi there,
Back in October I ordered a set of custom made temporary teeth veneers to cover a dental accident that I had. At first I was very satisfied with the service provided. The technician stated via email he was able to meet the dates I needed them by. Mainly two work functions in late November.
The turnaround time stated on website for the service was 2-3 weeks. £180
By mid November, despite some emails reassuring it would be no problem to meet my dates I did not receive. I instead received emails saying they had been posted but this was not the case. Then there was delays due to sickness, holiday and unreliable staff to follow over the space of another two weeks.

When I finally did receive them on December 11th, they did not fit my teeth whatsoever. He said he would redo them before christmas but I didn't receive the new impression kit before I left for the holidays.

I have an extensive email trail backing up this saga but can I get a refund in any way. He is falling back nomrefunds for custom work.

I'm frankly fed up and the dentist is now booked to sort thr issue properly.

Is there a section I can quote and build a case for money back?

Can I do a charge back?

I can't see a option on a chargeback, given they are custom made.

You could try SAD FART if you can prove they were not fit for purpose?
  • Time was of the essence. I'd cancel and tell them why.... balls in there court.
  • You should be thanking them for saving you going to Christmas parties looking like Austin Powers :D

If the goods are not fit for purpose, then it doesn't matter whether they are custom made or not.

The chargeback scheme is described here: http://www.theukcardsassociation.org.uk/individual/chargeback-for-credit-and-debit-card-purchases.asp
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

As far as visa go a retailer can/will reject on the grounds they are custom made to customers specs.

Remember chargebacks are over and above your legal rights and as such do not mirror them exactly.
