I am planning an extended stay in Adelaide Australia from the end of February 2020 until end of April 2020 and need to get there from Northern Ireland, and willing to fly from Dublin or other European Hub. I have British Airways Silver Status and would like to use a One World Airline while getting value for money.
Anyone able to give me any advice on good value flight opportunities?
Thanks in advance

Dublin is exEU, and often does attract really good fares.Legal team on standby0 -
Have a play with ITA Matrix. It’s the “brains” behind Google Flights and is a very powerful tool with lots of variables.
You can put in departure dates and a range of nights and it will show you options on a calendar. For example I just searched departing Dublin on 14th February (and upto a month later) for a stay of 55-65 nights and it returned the best price of €3620 for February 24th - April 22nd., via Hong Kong with BA and Cathay. That’s one example but there were plenty at similar prices with different combinations of dates. No idea if that’s a good price or not though.

Ex-EU; we’ve done it twice from Stockholm and will be doing it again in September 2020. We fly from ARN-SYD via Singapore in Singapore Airlines. We used avios as part payment for our BA flight LHR - ARN, booked in CE for baggage and have booked a cheap but decent looking hotel near the airport for an overnight stay.
Total cost for 2 return including the BA flights is approx £4300.
Try Qatar airways as well, I’m pretty sure they are in the One World alliance so you can get BA points etc.0 -

The downside of positioning flights in economy is the luggage allowance will be small if it is a separate ticket. Booking the positioning flights into business gets you a better luggage allowance, even if you don't see the benefit of the better seats on a short journey.

Who the he%% needs 64kg of luggage:rotfl:
Economy is 1 x 32KG which is more than enough.
We did a RTW trip of 4 months with just he ONE 32KG bag between us:cool:0 -

I’m with you on this one. The most I’ve ever taken on holiday is around 12KG. I once went to Cambodia & Vietnam with only hand luggage (although this did involve getting laundry done once a week or so and I wouldn’t do this again).
On a trip last year I travelled business whilst my friend went economy but I checked both bags in my name so that they both got to the carousel early.0
