AAAAAAGH! Why did I open this thread? I feel terrible now, I've done zilch so far! :o Moving house on Wednesday and have spent all of this weekend packing, had no time to go shopping. Deliberately haven't bought any frozen Xmas food yet due to having to defrost freezer for move, although I have bought some biscuits and chocolates over the last few weeks to try and spread the costs.

Have no other holidays from work, apart from two days this week to move, until Christmas, so am going to be really pushed with trying to get gifts, food and decorations bought, as well as getting the new house sorted out. Last year I was really organised and I was so pleased with myself, everything was sorted by the end of November. Next year I will be one of the super organised people! :A
  • I'm not doing too bad, for me, usually we're those people running frantically around the shops Christmas eve panic shopping >,< This year I've finished for hubby and son (including stocking fillers, though I might well be tempted to buy more, and a bigger stocking! :D I've bought most of my sisters and nephews presents, though I need to find an apron suitable for a 15 year old boy & some spices to put in with his cookbook.
I'm doing a winter warmer hamper for my mum but I'm leaving that till later as I've nowhere to hide it between now and then, same with a hot choc hamper for sister, movie night hamper for sister in law, pamper hamper for step-mother in law (!) and a gardeners hamper for mother in law - oh and a sweetie hamper for nana-in-law! I don't have room for all these hampers, and with a three year old in the house, I certainly can't have all the temptation around!
Most of the things we do have in the house are wrapped, and I'm making our Christmas cards this year, and have made 20-something so far, I'm not going to send them till I've finished making all 35 I need in total. I only make three every few days (again, down to the three year old!) but it won't be long. I like to send them nearer to Christmas anyway, as everyone else feels more Christmassy then!
Decorations & tree went up yesterday, but Isaac and I have an 'activity advent' this year and we're making something together every day - some are decorations, some will be gifts, and some potato stamped wrapping paper and so on - so although the decorations are up, there's going to be plenty more to come!
I'm doing a huuuuge online shop later today, a meal-plan for the whole of December! As well as Christmas nibbles & treats - I'm going to be completely poor afterwards!
Last year we were planning our house move - our offer was accepted on this house at the start of November, but our survey didn't get done till January 3rd, so all last Christmas we were occupied with moving house and packing - and chasing up bloomin solicitors - so I wasn't at all organised and couldn't wait this year - we've been watching Christmas films since the middle of October! :D

I love all these Christmas threads!

I have all my presents, need to wrap them all and sort them all out! I have written all my cards need to post/deliver them.

I have bought some longlasting items of food and some drinks when they have been on offer but still have to plan for all the fresh stuff! First time ever spending Christmas in my own home and it's very exciting especially as we can start all our own traditions and the kids (9 and 6) are very excited!

I think it has helped me following some of the tipes from organizedchristmas.com on the christmas countdown etc etc it also gave me lots of ideas!

    Good luck all!

I've just done all my food shopping on the ASDA website and it's being delivered on the 21st December. I've also bought some sweets and chocolates from this website:

I've decided to have a lot of things delivered this year and have it come to me instead of me going to get it.

All my presents have been bought or ordered bar one, I will let OH take care of that tomorrow. :D

Turkey is on order at the fishmongers. All nonpersihables have been bought and stashed away.

I made fresh stock from yesterdays chooky, that is in the freezer ready to make gravy on the big day. I have my cranberries and chestnuts and I'll be making up stuffing to be frozen this week.

I have bought the spirits and ordered some fancy wine. Just got to get the tree at the weekend and the fresh food in Christmas week and we're away.

  • I've done nothing yet - it's only just December. I leave things late every Christmas but I reach the finishing line at the same time as everyone else!

All pressies bought, although most aren't wrapped yet.

Just got my worst Christmas job to do - writing and delivering cards! I bought the cards about two months ago, with the intention of getting it over with early this time, but I just hate writing cards and keep putting it off, and like every year it'll get left until the last minute - again.

Apart from that - BRING ON CHRISTMAS, WE'RE READY FOR YOU! :xmassign:
