If anybody can park there its not an allocated space.
But anybody can't park there. The only person authorised to park there is the OP.

How that authorisation is enforced is a different question - and, of course, there's only one method, which we know is unpopular amongst the terminally entitled. But you can't argue against the concept of allocated spaces simply because they don't have any physical enforcement in place. That's probably the majority of allocated parking in the country.

Sorry didn't see the original. The option wasn't given so I assume nothing.

Is that in response to this?

Would you be so kind as to answer the question about the difference between secured and external spaces?

It would be helpful if you could learn how to use the Quote function.

you need actual legal council on the terms in the contract, no just internet forum opinions

from my perspective the conditions!in the contact allow for the developer to change the materials, specification and layout of your parking space!

they do not allow them to change!the actual location of the parking space which has defined in further sub text!

seek legal council and whether you have grounds!to take action on the developer for not delivering on what has been agreed!

The red area includes the bike and bin store. How does the plan describe these areas, communal areas which you can use?

Are the numbered parking spaces related in any way to the flat numbers?

Thanks. My solicitor is on it today but having read what I have read here I am not hopeful.

They aren't, no. We do not own Flat 4
  • Although just to point out to the poster who asks is your flat number on the space....I wouldn't always now expect that to be the case.

Its quite normal now to be given a space number that doesn't match your property number so you wont have potential burglars
monitoring the properties via the spaces being occupied etc.

OP I feel your pain although sadly can offer no more advice than that already given ...it does seem you have paid a significant amont for a space that now doesn't have the benefits of the one you were originally allocated.

I hope you can get something sorted

If the flat number and parking space number were the same, it'd be nothing more than pure coincidence, given that the parking space was an extra-cost additional purchase to the flat itself.
