Boots overcharged me

I went shopping last Sunday, and two different shops overcharged me.

One shop, a book store, was sorted on the day as I spotted it. The other was Boot who charged me an extra £1 on two Christmas boxes of smellies. The items were clearly priced and they clearly owe me £2! When I contacted them through Facebook I was told I have to return to the store.

The store is 20 miles away. I am not happy, they must have done very well overcharging everyone on this box set.

Only a couple of quid I know, but if I wanted to give my money away it would be to the busker outside...

Might be best suited to the Praise, Vent & Warning section.

I have had to go back to Boots twice now.

Picked up two online orders recently which were presents and the packaging was torn which clearly had been packed like that.

Customer service were good and sent replacements to the store quickly for me to exchange.

I now have to go back a third time as an order I just collected only had half my items. Apparently they were sent in two packages but the store only gave me one.

Have you tried ringing customer services I would have thought they could refund from the information on the receipt. You may even be able email them a copy.

    Worth a try.

To be fair, anyone could message them saying they'd been overcharged charged. And if you've paid by card they tend to need your card to give the partial refund.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • I have a boots 10 miles away, which is nearer, but I was told I need to visit the 'specific Boots store' that I originally went to.

I sent them the receipt and a photo of the product which is priced. You can see on the receipt the name of the product and it is obvious that I have been overcharged.

Yes, probably should have posted in a different section as this is a vent.

You asked how I did not notice at the time? Erm....because I didn't!
  • I was overcharged in a Boots store for a sale item. (Apparently I should have used a manned till rather than a self-serve one).

I rang them (the actual store itself) and they told me they couldn't help and to ring their central customer services. I rang them and they told me they couldn't help if it wasn't an on-line sale and that I needed to go back to the store in question (only a couple of miles away).

The staff in store could not have been more helpful and apologised that it could not have been sorted out over the 'phone. (It was a £9.99 item that should have been reduced to £3.99). They also apologised that it hadn't been obvious that the reduction needed to be applied at a manned till.
  • If it's a mistake, it's no problem, but Boots should sort out their mistakes not fob people off.

    Where is the fob off?
They asked you to go to store to sort out.

  • I feel fobbed off!! As I said, Boots are telling me that I need to go back to the exact store I purchased from to sort it out (which is not my local store). Surely this is not correct, I've never been told this before by any other chain. I shouldn't have to do a 40 mile round trip to sort this out.
