Touchy? Me? Man you got that sooooo wrong. I'm totally satisfied with the outcome. Fair and reasonable and I made my point to said energy company. I always take a degree of satisfaction when I take on a company and win my argument.

So you keep saying. Are you trying to convince other people or yourself?Touchy? Me? Man you got that sooooo wrong. I'm totally satisfied with the outcome. Maybe touchy was inaccurate. Insecure, perhaps?0 -
You're completely wrong.
hmmm .... who would that be? Me? Completely wrong? If it is me you are referring to then .... ahem ... may I disagree just a touch. This is all a numbers game to them and if, for example, £100 was the point that every complainant would go away they'd need to have more than one in four people taking their complaint to court in order for the paying them off in the first instance approach to be more expensive.
This is not 'all' a numbers game. Like I said so many times ..... but I will say it again just for your personal benefit ..... companies will not just pay out money for no reason. There has to be a valid complaint. The easiest way for a company to then close down that complaint is to pay off the complainant and close the matter, which is the case for more than 90% of the issues I would guess.I also think that £50 was a more than generous offer under the circumstances.
See now, you really haven't been paying attention. 'You' might think £50 was more than generous but it seems you would be completely wrong .... to coin a phrase. Said company is paying £385 ... so it would seem they disagree with you.Ultimately you may think you have "won" here and their capitulation is an admission of wrongdoing but it really isn't, and if you worked in any reasonably large company in a position above a minimum wage worker you'd know this.
See now ..... the ICO told the company that they failed in their obligation to protect their customers data. That's not me saying it .... thats the big ole ICO saying it. So I don't need to 'think' the company has done wrong .... I got it in pure black and white ....
Just curious ... why do you think someone working in a company on minimum wage would not know certain details? A bit condescending don't you think? The fact that a person works at the lowest level of the organisational structure does not mean their intelligence level is equally so..... or .... if they did proffer an opinion, would you just tell them they are completely wrong?0 -
Yep, definitely insecure.0

Point is, too many nay sayers on here telling me that I was not entitled to anything. If the case is good, and the facts are right etc then people should follow through and get a fair and just settlement.
You were not entitled to compensation. You made a claim and the company chose to settle, which is great news for you.
You are perhaps entitled.

It is indeed true to say I am not entitled to compensation ..... I or anyone else is entitled to make a claim ..... it is therefore negotiated or down to a judge to decide .....
As it happens, Her Majesty has not called me down as yet to bestow my 'entitlement' .... however, I have not checked the post today as yet .........0 -

I am not trying to convince anyone particularly ..... now I am making a point here that the individual has the power to challenge the mighty billion pound companies .... and if the individual has a valid complaint they can take the company to task .... it is called consumer rights ....
No idea where you are going with the touchy, insecure thing .... did you hope to be a doctor when you were growing up by any chance?0
