Refunded Computer Sent Back

Hello,
Cutting a long story as short as I can, I ordered a computer from a company several months ago now, which began having issues. So sent for repair, which went through fine however the courier damaged the outer case in transit, so I requested a full refund. After much hassle, I got this, the unit was sent back to the company, and I forgot the whole thing.
Fast forward to yesterday, and I receive a large parcel. It is the computer I sent back, and for some reason the company have sent it back to me. I have had no contact from the company so far.
Does this fall under unsolicited goods? Am I obligated to return the item? I am very unsure.
Thanks.

Of course it's not unsolicited!
You will need to return, however this will be at the expense of the company and reasonably convenient to you.
Pick up the phone, drop them and email and look after the item until collected.0 -
Did they refund you?Life in the slow lane0

Thanks for your reply!
I ask because a few people have been adamant it falls under unsolicited goods. I also am dreading trying to contact the company in the first place. They only allow you to phone, and getting to speak to a human being is near impossible. And it took them at least 5 attempts to pick the computer up in the first place.
Just curious as to what might befall me if I didn't contact them?0 -
Yes they did. Soon after collecting the item originally.0

Unsolicted goods are very rare now days. This used to deal with the charity christmas cards that would arrive on your doorstep followed by a demand for payment.
What you have is a mistake. Nothing more, nothing less and certainly not unsolicted goods.
They have six years to chase you for the cost of the computer or for it to be returned. Also the potential of Small Claims Court proceedings.0 -

They could just debit your card again if they have the details. Or bill you and when you fail to pay land you with a CCJ ruining your credit for years.
Of course it's not unsolicited you have an ongoing relationship with this company.0 -

Unsolicited goods are goods which are sent without any request being made (whether for those goods or other goods) by you or someone on your behalf.
As PR said, it was to deal with companies who would send goods out randomly (no contact having been made) with the intention of billing the recipients later. It was never intended to penalise companies for genuine mistakes. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

In that case send them a letter, advising them that you have their PC and that they sould come and collect it at you conveience and they sould contact you to arrange collection say within 14 to 30 days.
Ball is in their court so to speak them however you should take reasonable care of the PC and I would suggest that you don't use it!0
