Saving Holmes I miss my cleaner too - she is so much better at it than me!I need to focus on a couple of finance related tasks tomorrow. I thought I'd completed one of the tasks but I need to re-do it which is irritating,
I also plan to do a store cupboard inventory and come up with a meal plan that involves minimum spend. My new budgeting month has just started and I'd like to keep my spending as low as the last month which would give me "month ahead" financial status which will be the first time ever that I've got a months worth of expenses in the current account ahead of payday.8 -
Sounds really good. We still have our £1K+ EF but should be doing better really but spending lots on the garden and other stuff while we are home more.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

savingHolmes - your garden sounds amazing and it is helping you physically and with your wellbeing so enjoy it!!I've accomplished a few tasks - processed a return so £15 winging its way to my account, I've done a meal plan which uses up stock from fridge, freezer and cupboards but is still interesting and vaguely healthy.I enjoyed watching some of the old films on VE Day - not the war films but films about ordinary family life such as This Happy Breed which is one of my most favourite films. Fascinating to see how lives have changed and how different our values and priorities are.5

I don't know that film, Blackcats. I'll try to remember to look out for it.

Always interesting watching films that portray the past - sometimes with rose coloured glasses but sometimes too far the other way.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

This Happy Breed is on again this afternoon on Film 4 ..... I'm tempted to watch it again 🤭. Saving Holmes it's an old film so I think it is reasonably realistic, I particularly like looking at the furnishings in the house and the fashions.I've got an afternoon off work which I'm really pleased about and I'm going to catch up on admin. I've got a few bits of admin to do for my elderly relative too. Then I'm going to treat myself to some crochet time and putting nail varnish on my toes but not at the same time obviously.4

Today I'm very pleased that I've built up an emergency pot as a trip to the vet with the younger moggie has resulted in a big bill. The emergency pot has enough in it to cover the costs so I suppose that's exactly what it's for. Cat will be fine which is great news. Mind you, I thought dentists for humans were expensive but 2 teeth out for a cat 😳I'll start to re-build the pot this month.I've started 2 Christmas projects. I'm not a fast knitter 😂. I have only recently become confident enough to give my craft creations as gifts but they've been really well received and appreciated, so that's encouraged me to do some more.6

Hi Blackcats,
Great you had the EF there as I’m sure it would have been a lot more stressful without it. Hope the moggie recovers quickly!April 2020 - £102,222 Loans/CC’s.

Oh yes, Blackcats, cat dentistry can be expensive & often isn't covered by pet insurance. I now have a 'Meow Fund' as one of our regular savings pots as my experience tells me there's no such thing as a cheap vet bill. Glad your moggy is ok, anyway.

I'm glad of my Emergency Fund too this week. Something fell onto my car bonnet in the high winds last week and I have a hole in it! It's in the garage at the moment and the quote is for more than I have in my Car fund so will have to use some of the EF to pay for it.
Same as you I'll start rebuilding it next month when I get my work pension at the end of the month.
