Sun_Addict said:How many grandchildren - more than 12 😱
Or am I reading that wrong 😬
Absolutely not nagging at all to hand over a box with a label 'things to be sold' BC 😂 I love it. But will he take your very delicate hint...1 -
You aren't reading that wrong @Sun_Addict. 😁 MrBC and I both have children from previous marriages and some of our children have got more than the average 2.4 children. Christmas and birthdays are expensive but we feel lucky to have so many lovely little people in our lives.2
-
Glad you’ve cleared that up 🤣 but still 😱 I have just 2! Obviously you’re far too young to have all those grandchildren 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Yes @Sun_Addict - there's clearly been a miscount and other mathematical errors!
today was MSE due to resisting of unnecessary spending temptations.
this morning started with a conversation about breakfast along the lines of "what shall we have for breakfast? We could go to the cafe for a nice omelette". But we've got lots of eggs and mushrooms in the fridge. 'We could get a bacon sandwich from the kiosk in the park" but we've got bread and bacon here. So we stayed home and had a BLT.
then my beloved pink budget folder broke. After my initial disappointment I then became excited about buying a replacement folder - should I chose pink again or another lovely colour? Then my "foxgloves" voice reminded me that I was certain to have folders already from spendy days and yes, of course, I found a purple folder, a royal blue folder and a rather gorgeous pale turquoise folder. Unlucky Ama-zon my money is still my money and not yours!I'm going to watch Far from the Madding Crowd now. Not sure how long MrBC will stay awake for as it's unlikely to be his sort of film. I loved the book and hope the film does it justice.4 -
That’s my kinda film but definitely not Mr SA’s. In contrast we are being very cultured and watching The Masked Singer on ITV plus 1 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

The singer would be more my scene.
12+ grandchildren. A huge number. Hope they bring many blessings to your lives.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I enjoyed the film which I thought was a good adaptation. MrBC watched most of it too and we both said how relentlessly hard life was in the "old days". He feel asleep at the crucial point when Captain Troy came back so I had to explain the key parts of the plot.
I listed an item on vinted yesterday evening and it sold immediately so that's been wrapped and sent - £7 into the kitty. It was another smart work dress so it was daft to keep it unworn in the wardrobe.Mr BC's progress on e bay is slower to the point of no progress.
we had a Sunday evening kitchen table summit meeting and set our intentions for the coming week. No prizes for guessing what he needs to do. I'm going to sort through 3 boxes of photos. Some of them are my dad's classic photographic compositions - 3/4 of the photo shows a field and squashed into the final quarter is a blurry image of someone or something.4 -
Going through photos is hard. My parents delegated that to me in my teens when my grandparents died. Can you get any help with it / outsource any of the job? I paid my cleaner recently to help with some of mine although she didn't get through enough so plenty left for me at some point.

Yes @savingholmes - I think there are plenty of emotions attached to sorting photos. I did a first sweep this afternoon and pulled out the photos which are so bad that they are unrecognisable or if they are of scenery that it is impossible to work out where or when or why the picture was taken. There are a lot of those so it feels like some quick and easy progress has been made.
brrr it's chilly today. I've unashamedly put the heating on mid afternoon and it's nice and cosy now. We seem to still have a lot of credit with the 🐙 so whilst that's not a reason to switch on all the lights, appliances and heating but it is comforting to have a cushion of credit.
mrBC is currently sitting at the kitchen table listing items on eBay 😁2 -
That's great you were able to do a big initial clearance of pics. I looked through so many sorting out my Dad's Order of Service I think I'm fairly immune Dad-pic-wise now, though of course that sinking heart feeling never seems to go. Well done you for being brave and productive enough to want to get them sorted.
Fab work on the energy bills cushion too, that is absolutely what it's there for, not freezing in Britain in winter!
I hope Mr BC is listing his items and not looking productive then leaving you wondering where all your belongings have gone 😁2
