Excellent work saving that pot, and great you're getting some interest in the meantime.
I meant to say re the Tiffany's necklace, at least you bought something lovely with resell value should you ever need/want to, it could've been worse! Hope you're wearing it to do the washing up and that sort of thing 😁

It makes such a difference finding a form of movement that you love doesn't it! I've not been swimming at all this year - life has just got in the way.
As for the cupboards - organised they may be, that doesn't mean I can currently ever work out where to look for anything though!

Thank you @PennysIntoPounds, @EssexHebridean and @savingholmes
it does feel good to have the council tax all budgeted for - I just need to manage my hurumphing each time I make a payment. I need to remind myself that whilst my pot is being depleted the balance outstanding is reducing too.
I now have 2 paydays left until full retirement. September is a full month and October a part month. I actually only have 4 more days to work and then I'm on annual leave until my final date of employment on13th October and then that's it - finished, done and dusted and free 😎
when I started this diary I hoped to retire early but it was more of a dream than a belief that it would actually happen. I've learnt so much from these boards - hints, tips, encouragement, honest reflections from others and I've learnt a lot about myself too. I'm definitely more inclined to spend than save but now I value time more than possessions so I can spend more wisely. We have a week away at the start of October and then we can acclimatise to our new phase. It's been good to drop to part time as it's definitely helped me recalibrate work/life balance to life/work balance.6 -
That seems to have come round quite quickly. Those 4 working days will go really quickly and then you can start thinking like a retired person and know that everything doesn't have to be done today! There is definitely another day tomorrow.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your retirement once it is actually here.2 -
Wow, four working days??? Hope they go quickly, and happy retirement! 😀2
