Tea sounds lovely with posh cups etc. I’ve had a yearning to make lemon drizzle but I’m resisting as my hips don’t need it!

Always nice to have friends drop in - and have home made cake.
I stocked up on body shop perfume a few years ago - only to find DD also bought me some so I have plenty of 'stock' left to shop from home from.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

@lucielle and @savingholmes - the lemon drizzle cake was nice and a really easy recipe. I read on another thread about eating 30 different fruit, veg, nuts and seeds a week but not necessarily a full portion of each, so I includedthe lemons that went in the cake into last week's total 🤷♀️. Possibly not completely technically correct but hey ho. It's been interesting actually - we are up to 24/30 this week.We are starting our spring sorting, organising and clearing season. Amazingly OH sorted out 2 bags of clothes and we took them to the charity shop - he really struggles to let things go so this is big news in the blackcats house. I took them to the shop the same day so he couldn't change his mind.
I sorted through my wool and the wool from my mum. She kept fairly small scraps of wool that I was going to throw out but instead I made up a bright and colourful bag of wool for my granddaughters. The youngest is just learning to crochet so she is using the scraps to make chain stitch friendship blankets, the eldest is making a granny blanket style book bag. Two happy girls and they love knowing that some of the wool has come from their great grandma.
two lots of shredding done and we plan to list items on vinted and eBay over the weekend.
it's such a nice feeling clearing and organising.5 -
Well done to Mr Blackcats and well to you for getting rid immediately. I used to love cleaning and sorting but it all gets too much these days and I end up doing very little as I get so tired and breathless.

Just lost my rambling post, so to summarise
thank you @ladyholly and @savingholmes
I've spent a disproportionately high amount of our grocery budget for this point in the month but I'm going to try hard to get back on track. The grocery challenge really helps me to hold myself accountable. We are away for 1 night soon so I've got 13 days to cater for. We were lucky and got gammon steaks, apple crumble, bread, easy peelers and bananas from olio and there's plenty in the fruit bowl, cupboards, fridge and freezer.
Thanks to @EssexHebridean I'm going to use my £1 coop voucher towards milk tomorrow. I also got £10 off chocolate or wine from Ocado. I do my dad's shopping with Ocado so technically it's his voucher but he said I should treat myself. I was going to buy wine but OH doesn't drink it so I've bought a green and blacks box that we can share.
I think I've convinced myself that we can come in within budget. Although I'm not yet in the mindset that the budget is a maximum limit and not a target to aim for.

Must be something in the air, @Blackcats, as there's been a bit of clearing out going on in the Man Cave here at Foxgloves Manor, too.
F x2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!2 -
