I have the same feels far more often than I’d like. I love remembering though and hope I never forget these things

I hope you ate your cake with a proud smile <3

Thank you all for your kindness and I'm sending kindness back.

I have eaten in full one of the financial frogs - big tick.  The other frog, after a very robust logging in procedure required me to send a message which they will "aim to respond to in 3-5 working days".  I also started another task which I need to go back to.

this month is turning into a repairing/refreshing type of month.  In one of the bedrooms I've got some mirrored glass furniture which seemed like such a great design idea at the time but an idea I wouldn't repeat in a hurry.  Anyway, almost inevitably one of the glass tops cracked and for several months it's been on a "too hard" list.  However, I rang a local glass shop, described the problem thinking I'd need to measure it and repair it myself so I was delighted when they said to bring the whole thing in and they'd fix it for £25.  I collected it yesterday and they have done a great job.

secondly, I've found a small local shop who will repair the broken strap of my Radl*y handbag for me.  This has been broken since pre covid times.  I went for a drink with a friend and we had a lovely couple of hours, congratulating ourselves on how well behaved her dog had been, sitting quietly under the table.  Turned out the dog had been enjoying themselves chewing the bag handle.  My friend did offer to pay for the repair but I declined.  Anyway, it will be like having a new handbag because I haven't used it for so long.

What a cheeky little pup! Glad you’re able to get it fixed though. And the mirror!

Yes indeed a quiet dog and unusually quiet children should ring alarm bells.  It was quite funny as I picked my bag up from under the table, went to put it on my shoulder and was left holding a detached soggy handle.
I forgot to mention that I had a new battery put in my watch - paid extra at Timps ons for the lifetime replacement service so have made sure that the receipt for that is safely stored in the watch box.
My watch was another spendy years unplanned, unbudgetted for expensive purchase.  We literally got up one Saturday morning, decided that as I was approaching a milestone birthday we would buy a fancy watch - checked the available to spend figure on the credit card and went out and spent nearly £2000.  Makes me cringe when I remember.  I suppose I do have a nice watch rather than the £ thousands I spent on stuff that's long gone.

Great news the bag and glass furniture could be repaired. When I first met Mr SA he brought his family dog to my mum’s house. The dog went under a chair and quietly stayed there. Afterwards my mum discovered her shoe chewed up 😬
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Ouch to doggy misdeeds. Mine was pretty well behaved although I think it too went for shoes in its early puppy days...
